If you don't have the same opinions as her you're grade will pay for it. She is very unclear in class, blatantly chooses favorites & her grading is outrageous. The readings in class had little to do with the class description. If you don't talk in class, no matter what she says otherwise about "active listening", it affects your grade badly.

Comment:

This class was terrible. I love reading, but the stuff she had us do was ridiculous, and you got good grades being her favorite in the class. People with great papers got bad grades, and she was no help what-so-ever when meeting with her during a conference. I do not recommend her at all.

Absolute Worst! Super hard grader for no reason, readings were not interesting at all and was she was hard to understand. Asking her a question was pointless because you would be more confused. She does pick favorites which made it impossible for you to do well if you weren't one of the selected few.

Professor Ingberg is a tough professor but not awful. She is one of the nicest and most willing to help professors I've had. The way she described herself as "inflexible but not unreasonable" is exactly right.

She is a ridiculous grader, plays favorites and makes you read things that are a complete waste of time. She gives students bad grades when their papers were fantastic. This class was a waste of my time. She also is no help at all during conferences with her because she doesnt directly answer the question ever.

If you don't do the readings or the work then don't expect to get a good grade. If you don't participate in discussions in class, fail to show up at all, or say something stupid in class she won't like you. If she doesn't like you she won't give you a good grade. She friggin' loves me, so I'm set, but other people in my class are SCREWED!

Professor Ingberg is completely useless as a resource. In writing one paper I went to her for two hours and didn't get anywhere. She dances around every question, and not like a professor should, a professor is there to help you pull yourself along but she just makes people discuss. Frankly, she should go back to Finland, you can't understand her!

People who don't like Professor Ingberg typically are not motivated and don't like to do a lot of work. Yes, you will have to write well to succeed. But she is very accessible and always willing to help students. Fantastic professor.

I personally really liked this prof. I commented everyday in class because i was told to from another student who had her before. On her 3 papers from the classi got a A-, A, and B+ and it was easy to do. If you can't write a thesis paper than you are going to have problems but if you know how to and are creative then you won't have a problem.

I took this class as a Freshmen and wouldn't ever reccommend it to anyone. Unclear expectations of students and an unnecessarily hard grader. Plays favorites and the only way to do well in her class is to be fake nice to her.

i have tried to describe this woman to people and there are no adequate words to express what a horrible, horrible person/professor she is. i remember telling my mom about what her class was like and what we did and she looked at me and said, "you're kidding, right?" sad thing was it was all true. save yourself, avoid at all costs!

I did not enjoy being in class with Professor Ingberg. She blatantly plays favorites while grading and fails people who have excellent papers! She even fails people on individual research papers. Word of advice: get on her good side by participating in class and talking to her after class. DO THE READINGS!

i could see why she would get a bad rep. classwork was tough to put up with (infinite readings) but class discussions were mostly interesting and studentled. i was one of few people to get an A but thats simply because i noted every point she would comment on and elaborate on it during essay exams. simple if you can figure it out. interesting indv.
