Comment:

Nordstrom is an awesome professor. Very friendly and approachable. He is excited about what he teaches and he is very knowledgeable. Be prepared to read! Great professor, writes his own poetry and shares with the class. He's great!

My personal expeirence with Nordstrom is mixed. While he does tend to kill an unnecessary amount of trees and is monotone, I can still say that I did take away a number of things from this class. If you do take him, be prepared for reading aloud your papers and get a very large binder for the millions of papers he gives out.

This. Man. Is. So. Boring. He assigns frivolous papers that he thinks are interesting but really only take up time that you could be using for a more important class and he's an unnecessarily hard grader. He's not very helpful and it was nearly IMPOSSIBLE for me to pay attention in this class. He also goes off on tangents every two seconds. NO.

He is a difficult grader; he hands out dozens of pages in class; he writes poems daily and shares them in class. The above is 100% true, and all of these idiosyncrasies serve as attributes to his dedication to Shakespeare and his other subjects. I owe my understanding of grammar and the finer points of the language to his essay revision process.

Disorganized and very poor at teaching - Very knowledgeable, but cannot effectively convey information, the essence of teaching! If you can deal with an ad-hoc agenda and lack of grade feedback, great; if you require a strict and effective environment, with regular grading, avoid this professor!

I had Nordstrom for RCC back in the day. The class was a nightmare. I will admit part of the problem were the peer mentors. He wasn't intereseted in most of the students in the class, only the ones who were thinking about becoming an english major. RCC classes are supposed to be partly fun, all of our activities were classroom oriented.
