The bottom reviews are a perfect description of him. His tests are almost literally the reviews. He's really laid back & his teaching style is tough to understand but his grading system is very fair. He is very intelligent & if u keep an open mind u can learn a lot from him. the class is pretty important & he is the best to teach it. Not an easy A.

Comment:

Smug, arrogant, and self absorbed. However, he doesn't take himself too seriously and legitimately knows the material. He doesn't prepare for class and is a little lazy too, but he wants all students to do well so he gives completely fair assessments. I would recommend him because his style of teaching is definitely favorable for his students.

To achieve an A you will need to read the book. His lecture is simply just a supplement for you to understand topics that you might have not understood through the book. If you get an A on his 1st 3 exams you will be exempt for the final so work hard! You will definitely pass if you take good notes just write down whatever he says. Good luck!

Boring, goes off on tangents. Can't study from notes to pass the tests since he just scribbles random formulas on the board, mostly just reading and teaching yourself from textbook. Not even worth attending class, basically a waste of time. Tests are multiple choice, and his grading system is strange but fair. A on the final is an A in the course.

Well the class is very hard! Although some did quite well. I horribly failed the first two exams and then I ran to him for help. He is more than willing to sit down with you to explain the material, and after I did I pulled myself from a D to a B-. So, his grading system is there to help you with the best possible final grade.

A bit condescending and cocky, but knows his stuff. His weird grading system can either fail you or pull you out of a hole. He's the chair of eco department and very smart. Better to be taken at above intro levels I suppose.

he's horrible!!! if possible stay away from him! hes very boring, doesnt explain things well and if u ask him a question he wont answer u with a straight answer. he cant teach!! he definately has favorites so if ur not an eco major then do not take him!

Not very clear. Notes don't exist within his class and the discussions often go off on unrelated tangents. Did not enjoy this class. Mind you all I'm not a student who doesn't care about their education, quite the contrary, I pride myself on trying to get the best possible but this class just didn't do it. He does NOT give notes. He literally jus scrabbles over the board expecting you to know. Since he does not care about attendance, it does not even motivate you to come to class let alone learn. Never uses text book except right before the tests. He has a sly grading system but doesnt really help.

He is nice guy, he means well, his tests are a bit challenging but since all tests are cumulative at the end u start getting the hang of it, he works out your grades which ever way favors you, so that it will be good one.

I take back what i said 2 posts down, this guy is a stand up character. I didnt pass a single test all year, but he gave me a b-. My buddy did even worse than me, and never went to class, never got over a 25 on a test and didnt even write the paper..D!!!!

Classes are confusing and notes are sketchy. However, the tests are impossibly detailed. It is easier to learn the material by reading the book on your own and sleeping through class.
