Comment:

If you are not good at math whatsoever, I suggest looking for a different professor. Through the course you are on your own to learn the material. The notes given really do not help at all and end up leaving you more confused in the end. The professor is very snarky with her emails and responses and I honestly just gave up with her.

Comment:

I took this class online and she gives lecture notes and a video for each one but I didn't need them. The homework is in mystatlab so follow the examples and you'll learn everything there, and you can google the calculator functions. The homework was only 7-12 questions and she provided a review for each test. Do the review and you'll get an A.

Anyone saying that this class is hard is laughable. I took online. UNLIMITED attempts at homework. ALL quizzes and final are exactly the same as sample exams (just with different numbers). Proctored final, but allows a cheat sheet. Just write down exact steps used on practice exam. I got a 98% and I typically struggle with math. SO easy, just try.

The only reason why I did'nt get an A+ was because I forgot to turn in some homework. Do the practice test and learn how to work the problem, it will help you 100% on the test. I didnt buy the book so I went entirely from the videos posted on My Math Lab. Final is taken at any Valencia testing ctr and she allows notes, any other test are online

Professor Sloan really cares about her students, granted that this was taken as an online course. Deadlines are outlined as well as expectations for homework and quiz completions. The content is organized and easily accessible through BlackBoard and MyStatLab. Never taken Stat before, this class is easy to self-learn with resources.

Prof Sloan is great! Hw every week through mymathlab. Test are easy if you do the optional reviews. Allowed 3 pgs front &back for notes on mid-term and final (proctored exams). Is very clear on the course work from the first day and is available if you reach out for help. Sends reminders for exams. You will pass as long as you do the work.

Ms. Sloan is clearly a professor who cares about her students and knows how to teach college level students. She was very clear about assignment due dates. She sends reminders and gives pointers throughout the course, by far one of the best profs I have had here at Valencia. BEST PIECE OF ADVISE: Take the practice quizzes they will help so much.

Taking her stats class and got an 97%. Pros: Her exam are very similar to the reviews. Do not need to buy the book You get 3 pages of notes when taking midterm and final! Homework has explanation if you do not understand Cons: My stats lab is extremely picky to the exact tenth of decimal Homework can be tricky at times

You pretty much teach yourself through this class. It is not hard and I got a passing grade but the teacher is absent unless you have a question. She is not flexible in her grading and while I did not think it was a bad class, I could think of better ones.

MyMath lab is picky when entering stuff. First professor who gives optional notes and lectures in case you want them. Helpful especially with the calculator moves. Do her optional reviews before each test. Made tests easier. I made an A because of detailed notes and helps she has. Use to C's. You'll put in time but you have everything need.

Her class is pretty easy. The issue is mymathlab. That software leaves no room for error. It is not clear as to how it wants you to input the answer and she does not take that into consideration. She is the only professor that I ever had that provided homework and a quiz that was due during spring break week. Most people get a B in this class.

I took online class and it was hard for me because there're a lot of assignments, time consuming. However, it's not hard to get an A in this class, no need to be a math pro. All videos and explanations are very clear step by step to help you succeed in this class, also cheat sheet may be used for exams.

Starting off the class didn't seem so bad but it got tougher. I never met a teacher more disrespectful. She would assume we would all cheat and would make us have books and folders to cover ourselves whenever there were testsquiz. She was late 3-5 times. Locked herself from her class twice. Lied about the state giving us our finaltestswatching

Her audio lectures don't match the book so save money and use ebook. Homework very similar to tests. Very clear cut assignments; she provided notes to print. 2 HW due every Thur, 3 tests, and a proctored final is stated on schedule but not in syllabus. Not an easy class so make cheat sheets for formulas and write notes from audio too.

Parts of this college algebra class were challenging, but if you're unsure of something, just ask for assistance! She's more than willing to help. Great professor, very intelligent. I did not find her tests to be too hard, with proper studying it's totally do-able. Be sure to complete all homework and you're set!

She was a not the greatest teacher. she would explain everything really fast then get annoyed when you had questions. not a great explainer to begin with. i was in the math depot a lot. i ended up dropping the course because i need help and she wasn't helping. she's nice, sort of. and like other stat teachers she gave you a cheat sheet.

She does not care about her students progress in class. If you reach out to her for help she will not help you in any form and tell you in a light manner you're on your own. Tests are completely different from material studied. Save yourself take another professor for stats!

I had her for 2 semesters of math & i wish i couldve picked another teacher, i wouldve passed the 1st time. she is very tough about her work & you NEVER get a break. she explains things the hard/long way & scares you into thinking it will only get worse. all her tests are "show full work". take an easier teacher if u wanna pass!

I took her almost 4 years ago and to this day she is the second worst teacher I've ever had. She was extremely rude and did not teach at all. She may have changed her teaching technique since then but if she hasn't, be warned. If you want an EXCELLENT math teacher take Damion Jon Hammock, he has been one of my favorite teacher at Valencia!
