Dr. Perrino was one of the best profs I have had. She is a great lecturer and explains everything throughly and her notes if you pay attention in class and really listen to her examples you will do extremely well. Her exams are super easy if you follow these instructions. She is also very understanding of personal situations or health issues.

Andrea is by far the most amazing, inspiring prof I have ever had at UBC. I felt like I was attending motivational speeches rather than a lecture. She makes the 3-hour lecture SO worth it. Only two exams and optional paper. She has taught me so much about life and the material learned extends beyond the class. Recommend her to everyone at UBC!

Stay away. Classes are confusing re-hashes of the textbook, unorganized and hard to follow. Extremely unclear criteria. Professor goes on too many tangents, yet none of them related on how to succeed in the class. I am a straight A student, yet struggled in this course. horrendously set up course. terrible.

Awful. I know she knows her stuff but her lecturing style is just so terrible, she doesn't explain concepts in an easily understandable way (instead just lists examples without elaboration), goes on many tangents, and worst of all, her exam questions are SUPER subjective, elusive, and unfair, even if you study all the content. Stay away if you can.

I enjoyed this class. I think she is a good professor and she covers the content well in this course. The text book is very easy to read and it relates to the course content well. She let us out of class early almost every class (even after saying we would be staying to the bell everyday lol). Her energy is contagious, making it easier to focus.

Excellent class. Prof has a ton of energy and is obviously very passionate about teaching and the topic. Midterm and Final exam are each worth 50% unless you do an optional paper near the end of the semester. A lot of the questions come directly from lectures, so not going to lectures almost guarantees you a low mark.

She is one of my favourite profs that I've had so far at UBC. She is extremely passionate and energetic and thus you also feel interested in the course material. Highly recommend taking sport psych with her, especially if you're an athlete yourself. Even though it's a three hour lecture, she makes it worth it.

Dr. Perrino is super intense/passionate, but she makes sure to set you up for success. If you attend all the lectures and study in advance for the tests you will guaranteed get an A in this course. If you put the effort in you'll definitely be successful. Her tests are super fair

Dr. Perrino is an intense woman, I believe her words resemble a take me or leave me attitude which can leave people either loving her, or not getting along. I found the exams quite difficult, particularly the multiple choice that are meant to confuse you. The written portion is much better as it tests on applied material straight from lecture.

I loved the professor. She captured my attention every minute of the 3 hour lecture. The course material was very interesting and she expressed it in a great manner. Her exams are hard, but you learn a lot from this class.

Since were only allowed 3 tags to describe a prof, let me add more here: Caring Very entertaining ( important in 3 hour class at end of day!) Inspirational (she had me thinking about how to link concepts and more importantly, apply them to my own life, sporting and otherwise. This is true hands on learning). Would take again!

The class started off really well. I was really excited because Prof Perrino was very enthusiastic and seemed like an overall super cool lady. But, as the course went on I found myself disappointed. Her lecture content is extremely disorganized and repetitive. It almost seems like there isn't enough content for a full course. And the TB kinda sucks

Personally, I had a great experience with Dr. Perrino. As long as you show up to class and do the readings on your own time, the class should be average difficulty, given psyc classes. She really takes time to learn names and encourage every student. Very charismatic, would take her class again.

Do not recommend taking. The lectures are a confusing rehash of the textbook. She does have energy though. The grading scheme for the essay was unclear at best. The exams mostly focus on rote memorization details from the textbook.

Andrea Perrino is an energetic, high-octane prof. She has very high standards for her students and also for her own lectures. She gives 100% effort into her lectures, is open and honest about expectations and is genuinely passionate about her field. If you're a slacker, you won't pass well, if you put the work, expect to be rewarded.

She knows her material but she's too cocky and full of herself to be approachable to the opinions of others. She also has really stupid rules like no drinking water or bathroom breaks during a 2h 20 min exam. Ridiculous.

This course (psych 311 sport) had potential to be really sick, instead it was shockingly awful. Never seen a class of 150 plus have an average of 52 for an essay. lectures were really all over the place that did not at all match with her ridiculously hard marking. if u care about gpa do not at all take this class. i wanted to like this class

I seriously recommend you do not take this course if you care about your GPA. Dr. Perrino is an okay prof who is passionate about her subject by her grading is out of this world. The first midterm the class average on the short answer portion was 11/35 correct, and 71 of the 161 students failed the paper due in the course with a class average52%

She's a Type A personality which can be intimidating at times, but I found her to be one of the best profs I've had due to her passion and knowledge. She wants her students to succeed - but, you have to work for it. To me, a flaw would be clarity. Her slides are disorganized, she rambles, and her exam questions are at times confusing/misleading.
