The most frustrating person I've ever met. I got an A+ in her class and usually that alone would make you like a prof, but not Arla. She extremely rude, likes to talk down to her students, and can't can't take any kind of critisism. I've never met anyone that liked her and I can't believe somebody would say something positve about her

I've left SMU and moved to another uni and Day remains 1 of my fave profs ever. I took 3 courses w/ her & always found her wonderful & very fair. She won't tolerate rude, lazy, or moronic students, of which there are many at SMU...those of you in this category should stop blaming her for your failure (& stop w/ the immature comments re: hair, etc.)

Whiners! Be glad there are profs of this calibre at SMU, most individuals who complain through this forum either didn't do the work or didn't use the proper channels for help. Dr Day demands that you do the work, its that simple. I also got an A+ because she made it interesting and helped me when I asked her to.

Dr. Day is brillant, but should not be teaching introductory statistics. We are 2nd or 3rd year students, trying to grasp concepts that we may not be comfortable with (im in arts because im not good at math), and she is condescending, rude, and a witch. She should stick to researching, or teaching graduate students who want the punishment of DrDay.

Not only is Arla a horrible professor, she is one of the meanest persons I have met. She belittles and ridicules people in class and when you go to for help. SHe is constantly trying to prove that she is sooo good, but in a very disrespectful way!!

"Dr. Day's" condesending attitude and lack of empathy for any of her students makes attending her lectures a demeaning chore rather than a comforting learning experience. She has obviously forgotten that she is not just a professor but a psychologist. In all, too much statistics for Arla has ultimately turned herself into one.

Arla is a great prof & a nice person. Her lectures are clear & funny, & she's helpful when you go see her. But she teaches to students who care & who actually want to learn. If you are a moron who expects to do nothing & get A's, you probably won't like Arla (which explains a lot of the bad reviews)

Definitely knows her stuff & teaching skills are adequate, however she has NO interpersonal skills. Ex:If she doesn't like you, she will let the whole class know it! So, if you're a good student and you did well in Research Methods, you'll do fine in her class - Just stay on her good side!!
