Terrible. He preaches one thing while does the complete opposite. Lectures are so boring and don't have anything to do with the material. The speeches he assigns don't even make sense and are kinda useless to life. Disliked him more and more as the semester went on both as a person and a professor.

By far FAVORITE professor I've ever had. Nonv comm is the best class. He is so passionate. u learn so much & if u read the chapters, attend class & participate, u will get a guaranteed A. He is always willing to help u & u can go to him with any questions you have. He has truly made a difference in my life. Take him for conflict too! great guy!

Pay attention to what he says and read the textbook and take notes on what you read. Hes a great guy and funny. He loves to help students. He likes to get to know students. Very specific with his guidelines but make sure you stand out!

Comment:

Best Communication professor at Oneonta. He is so smart and if you take his class seriously you have the opportunity to learn a lot. Make sure you read the book and go to class, if you focus and are involved it is easy to get a good grade. He is tough in the sense that he wants you to learn- so do not take his class if you are unwilling. Love him!

Single best professor I ever had. I am now a professional presenter, with over 2000 presentations under my belt, and have been for over 25 years. Dr. Dauria made that happen for me. I worked harder in his class than in any before or since - and loved every second of it. Thanks, Dr. Dauria. Matt Carlen, class of "way back when"

This class is nothing like 160. I really enjoyed this class because you talk about interesting things. Quizzes and tests are difficult but as long as you study the things you think he won't test you on, you will be fine. Highly recommend this class- the biggest part of your grade is a presentation on whatever you choose! Love this professor

Dauria comes off as obnoxious, with comments like "I don't see why anyone in this major wouldn't be interested in __." However, the class is valuable- I learned a lot about the "real world," the job market and the comm department. The tests are VERY SPECIFIC and are based on the textbook. It's possible to do well, but also possible not to

I don't know why so many people don't like Dauria. I took his class my first semester of college as a freshman and got an A-. Alls I did was read the textbook and articles and take good notes on them.. anyone who is complaining probably didn't do the work. Dauria's a nice guy and the class isn't too hard for a major class.

Dauria is a great professor. Many may judge him on survey which they shouldn't because it is formatted differently than his other classes. Yes you have to read the book to do well and tests can be challenging,but he doesn't make them hard on purpose. He wants you to do well and is always willing to help. Take him for conflict and nonverbal!

This course is required for any Communication major. Very informative and provides a convenient look at the classes you will probably be taking in the coming semester. I attended the lectures and read the assigned chapters twice before the exam and got the grade I deserved. This class is not as bad as people on here make it out to be.

Professor Dauria isn't exactly my favorite professor at Oneonta, but the course was an enjoyable one. If you're really serious about the major, and have a major interest in this, you'll like the class.You get out of these tests what you put in. Thoroughly read the textbook, review the lectures, the syllabus and the articles. I personally did well.

He is a very nice guy but from a real point of view, his lectures are off topic and his powerpoints have stuff that aren't going to be on the tests. His tests are hard and trick you. I have done the reading and still didn't do good. I would not take this class and wouldn't advise anyone else to.

This class was much easier to sit through that 160, I'll give it that. He actually does teach, and is pretty funny and entertaining. Assignments are another story. Doesn't explain what he wants and tells the class they are doing things wrong that are clearly right. It's his was or the highway. Tests are easy, papers and presentations are not.

I'm sorry to anyone who has to take this class. Exams are hard and doesn't actually teach the class. Has other professors teach for him. Since its required to take the class with him just be prepared to put in the work so you can at least do well.

Every class there is usually a different professor from the COMM/MCOM Dept. lecturing on whatever class they teach but Dauria himself lectures about 5-7 times. He's okay not terrible and the material is easy. The worst part are the pop quizzes. Tests are fairly easy just pay attention to lectures and read the chapters.
