1 Paper based on a book report. You get 5 book options. After I was done it was 13 pages. End of year project is a powerpoint. You have 1 post on Sunday and response to classmate 300 words or more due on Wednesday. Chapter tests, an open book based on vocab and questions based on info found in the book varied from 9 to 20 questions a test.

The questions on the quizzes were a little confusing at times. APA is big with her and grades strict on assignments which were a lot. I enjoyed the forums. Be prepared to read a lot. I wish she would have incorporated more links vs a majority of boring textbook reading.

i took this class online, and it was a pretty easy A. She's very caring, and if something comes up she's very understanding. BUT be sure to participate in discussions and follow her grading criteria. DON'T skip the reading, her quizzes are really detailed since you have access to your textbook. If you just read and participate you will pass.

Online assignments more extensive than needed, questions on the homework were sometimes too wordy and hard to understand. Very pedantic professor, more for University teaching than community college.

OMG Bailey is Awesome! I've taken 2 classes with her so far and she the best teacher I've had at Cuesta. Her classes are difficult and she gives an ungodly amount of homework, but I've learned more in her classes than in any other class. So if you really want to learn; and you want an awesome, sweet, adorable and caring professor take her class!

Comment:

FMST212 is the second class I have taken with Drechsler. The homework/material is very straightforward. Also, there are no big "tests", just quizzes online each week, so you can use your textbook on the quizzes. My only complaint is that Drechsler is incredibly liberal, and will dock your grade if you have a differing opinion from hers.

It was so much work for a general education online class!! Beware! Each week there is a longish assignment, quiz, and forum participation. It wasn't really bad, but compared to previous online classes I took, this one was a hustle. Also sometimes her questions are hard to understand.

Bailey is an amazing teacher! I took Human Sexuality and Dev. Patterns of Women. I learned so much from her class. I would not recommend taking online though, she is an amazing teacher and you would miss out. I took 215 online and wish I hadn't. I will take her in the future!

I took Baileys class for an elective (human sexuality) and it was very insightful. she is passionate about what she does and makes the class feel comfortable. she does not come off as disrespectful or "pervy" when talking about certain topics. she also integrates critical thinking and has great class discussions!

I dropped this teacher and took the class at the NCC in order to get a different teacher. This teacher seemed to NOT appreciate older students. She was rude to me within the first few minutes. Other students my age have had the same experience.

I've taken 3 of Bailey's classes and she is by far my most admired teacher of all the teachers I've had at Cuesta in 2 years. If you show genuine effort she will notice. If you ask her for help you'll get it. Her study guides DO help if you understand what she's asking. if you don't understand just ask her. She is the best FMST teacher out there.

this is a distance learning class. I was getting 100% all across the board till one assignment had me express my opinion, after that she has been picking apart everything , no more 100% for me I will be lucky to get a c.It is hurtful to be treated this way.

Mrs. Bailey is my favorite! last semester I took her class online and got an A. This semester I'm attending her in campus, the class is so much fun, entertaining yet fill you with good information. Her tests are not that easy but assignments grades can lift u up alot :)

Mrs. Bailey is the best! I'm taking her online class of family studies. I'm in love with class, and though it is an online class, it's not hard at all and the study guides are amazing to re study before exams. The instructor is really understanding and helpful. Can't ask for better instructor.

I didn't like Bailey at first. I thought she was very condescending. The course content and exams were difficult. You get to bring your study guides to exams. Spend the necessary time answering study guides correctly. A difficult research paper was due at the end of the course. By the end of the semester I realized she was an excellent teacher.
