Comment:
It's easy to misunderstand what Bill tries to accomplish in class. I feel sorry to those who found it less than rewarding, because it without being melodramatic, his classes have changed peoples lives, or at the very least, challenged their perspectives and way of thinking. I loved my class with Bill. Thanks.

will give you great perspective on social theory if you put in the work and pay attention to lectures. only uses primary texts (durkheim, weber, marx, freud, foucault, kierkegaard, nietzsche, irigaray, dostoevsky, kafka, baldwin). also teaches quantitative methods.

Profound waste of time. If he wants to run a group therapy session, he should hang a shingle on his office door and start billing the HMO's instead of taking our tuition dollars for this drivel. Check with the dean's office about getting credit for attending movies in a language you don't speak before taking a Hoho class, you'll learn more.

he's crazy, disorganized and pretty out there...but you gotta take his class...just don't major with him...you would be better off spending the $150K on a ferrari and hanging out with your parents' wierdest friend for four years

the class can change your life if you'll let it! Don't assume you can coast -- he'll flunk you if you don't work, but if you think about what's going on, you can learn more than you'll learn anywhere else

bill is bill, you either love him or hate him. you get from the class whatever you are willing to put into it. if you don't like the class, it's because you're not willing to let down your guard and allow the class to reach a personal level.

Very awesome, but meet with him outside of class. He has lived an amazing life and helps you understand the class much more one on one. Anyone who does not like him just does not know how to take advantage of the resources he has to offer.

Worst class I had at Haverford. May be great as a group psychologist, but makes no contribution to a student's inellectual development. Should not be teaching for credit courses.
