I took Prof. Dietrich's online Intro to Humanities class. It was very easy, with one discussion board post a week and a 3-5 page final essay at the end of the semester. He has a clear DB grading rubric, so as long as you follow that, adhere to the deadlines, and read the textbook, you will easily get an A.

No tests :) One paper, but not long. The class was 100 points and most came from discussions. You pretty much would have to be brain dead to not get at least a B in his class.

Homework once a week in a discussion board. Has an awesome HUM100 Twitter account with stuff you learn in class, if you're interested in learning more. Class was very easy, our final was a 3 page paper on a subject of your choosing. Very understanding and tech savvy.

Professor Dietrich is my kind of professor. Depending on your style, you'll love him or hate him. At the beginning of the semester you'll see everything you need to do. He treats you like an adult, there's not mindless busy work, no unnecessary quizzes or "participation" home work. Discussion Boards every week, a Midterm paper and a Final paper.

He gives a "discussion board" every week. They aren't worth much individually, but add up. Set yourself a reminder bc I would forget. No tests. Two 3-5 page papers. He gives a list of topics, but they aren't very good topics. But as long as you try and reach the objective, you'll pass. He mostly reads from the book so missing a day won't kill you.

You have one discussion board, which you get on Monday, per week. It wasn't due until the next Monday, so I usually did mine on Saturdays. During the semester, there wasn't a single test, but instead there were two 3-5 page essays. (Midterm and final) There were various topics to pick from, so it wasn't bad. He's very friendly and sometimes funny.

Mr. Dietrich is a wonderful professor. He expects all work to be turned in on-time no excuses, and he is very clear on his expectations for all work. He grades tough, but not to be mean, because he wants to help his students succeed. He gives honest feedback to all papers, and expects his students to be at a college level in writing. Great Prof.!

Mr. Dietrich is an amazing teacher. He is very nice, thorough, and tells you what he expects. As long as you turn your papers in on time, he provides honest feedback to help improve your writing skills. He does grade hard, but only because he wants to help you succeed and be able to write the college level papers like we should be able to write.

I would steer clear if at all possible. It takes him an average of three days to answer emails. He grades ridiculously hard and all in all, adds lots of stress that simply isn't necessary.

I had no interest in history, but it was required for my degree. But after taking his class I have actually considered majoring in history. The way he engages the class is amazing. Highly recommend Mr. Dietrich. Thank You for the best 50 minutes of my day.
