I've truly never had such a kind, caring, helpful, dedicated math teacher in my college career until I took Steiner. She is truly wonderful and will help you with absolutely anything. Always in a cheerful mood and never impatient, and sees the best in her students. Take a math class with her!

She was the BEST professor I ever had at Kent State University. Absolutely wonderful. Understanding, knowledgeable, willing to do absolutely anything to help you in any way shape or form. I wish she taught every class I took here. highly recommend for all math courses!!!!!

I took the entrance test for Kent at McD's one night because I didn't have internet and scored 1 below testing out; I took Honors Calc 1 in HS. She takes basic algebra way too seriously, but she is incredibly motivating and kind to all of her students. She just really wants to help.

Dr. Steiner was by far the best professor I ever had in my years at KSU. I just had her this summer for basic algebra IV. been out of high school for a while, I scored only 8 % on my initial assessment, but I improved to a B grade in just 5 weeks. She walked the extra mile for students, was very kind, helpful, and cared about students success

Everyone said "Don't have her for Concepts classes you will fail!" My thought: how bad can she be? DO NOT HAVE HER FOR CONCEPTS COURSES! I'm an A student having to retake the class along with half of my class. HALF of my class! Tests = impossible 15% of material on the test is stuff we haven't gone over because you should "just know it." Horrible!!

Comment:

Very cheerful and friendly old woman, however the tests are so much harder than any homeworks or review. She makes the tests incredibly difficult. Usually class average is in the 70s. Hard class, nice teacher, but you really need to have a grasp on everything you learn.

I have her for Basic Algebra 1 and 2 and she is so great. She doesn't teach you anything she is just there to supervise the class but if you need help she is approachable to ask for help and she is genuinely rooting for everyone in the class to do their best. I wish I had her next semester.

I love Dr. Steiner! She's amazing and really knows what she's teaching. She really wants to help you pass the class. I thought it was a joke though just because I'm a math major... I'm more frustrated with other students than with Steiner. The textbook is just for homework and if you're good at math, you don't need the online program.

I had Dr. Steiner for FYE! It was the most boring class ever and attendence was mandatory and most of your grade! There is way to much work outside of class for just your FYE. It was hard to keep up with this 1 credit class when you still have 3 and 4 credit classes that are more of your GPA and have alot of work.

Dr Steiner is truly amazing. Im not sure why she has the reviews she does below me but she is such a wonderful woman who is always making sure we understand everything! She is so sweet & understand, and answers every question you have even if it takes the whole class. DEFINITELY take her for math! I hope I can take her next semester!

in her syllabus for concepts one, 20% of material on the tests were never covered in class, which I think was completely ridiculous. she explained things decently however she tried to fit too much material in this course and kept moving on to new concepts while half the class was totally lost. I do not recommend her.

Hardest math prof. to take this class with ever. I've gotten As in my last 2 college math classes, this one i got a C. I even had a tutor. She is very organized and doesnt really look at homework, which is nice, but her test are killer. The reviews don't help at all, and they're nothing like the quizzes.

Disclaimer:Doc. Steiner is such a nice woman! Super smart and I have a lot of respect for her... but Tests were WAY harder than everything. There's too much homework. I went above and beyond to pass and after this recent final I don't think that's happening. I went to tutoring, every single class and even asked friends for help. Super tough.
