Took 8 week class's & was amazed! As a FYE I was nervous about college classes but he always helped if needed & was very clear what he was teaching. Be aware he takes attendance every class, lectures are usually long/important & gives out mandtory work every week(5-10 page essays) ! His lectures are never boring, he's always making jokes!:)

Took a couple of his 8 week courses. A lot of reading and papers due. Follow directions or ask him questions if theres a misunderstanding. Must take this class as a priority or you'll be left behind. I survived another 8 week course and you'll be able to get an A. (Not easy A). Attendance is mandatory.

BEST professor EVER. Took sty this 8 week course to satisfy a requirement before transfering to state. Yes, there is a lot of reading and papers. Many are due in a week so plan early and do the ASAP. Attendance is mandatory and never miss anything from the lectures. There are take home exams and a portion of video exam. Be responsible an got an A

O.k. let me just say....PREPARE TO DO A LLLLLLOOOOOOTTTTTTT OF HOMEWORK. Great teacher, he is a master in the subject, he is supper funy, but he makes you work. If you have a load of classes don't take him, it will be very hard for you to compleat this class becuase he gives twice the homework other teahcers do.

a lot of reading required and several essay assignments. I must have written close to 30pages for this class. it's time consuming homework, but really easy if you read the books (there are 3). I didn't really know anything about the subject and now am very interested in it. if you read and turn in the work on time it's an easy A.

I've taken 141B already, but I wish it would have been w/Rangel. HE IS HANDS DOWN THE BEST CHICANO STUDIES PROFE @ SDCC! Every other Chicano Studies teacher at City in NO WAY can come close to Rangel. He is retired, but still has the passion to teach...lucky us. He is a City College landmark! Take any of his classes while we still can.

This guy was hilarious. I've never been so enthralled with one person speaking for three hours straight. I was the only gringo in the class, but it was still fun. some spanish may be required to get some of his jokes though...
