Reminds me of a teddy bear! He is very helpful, always encourages office hour visits and set up a study group. The material is hard to follow unless you are super into it. However his study guides are a life saver. Even if you dont understand, you can easily find the info online to study.

goes off on rants so that its hard to pay attemtion. hes a good teacher and hes so helpful but you almost feel bad that its such a boring subject because no one pays attention to him or answers when he asks the class questions.

kinda boring and he likes to go off on rants about absolutely nothing and sooner rather then later he loses the attention of everyone in the class, overall if it a relatively easy class and he is a great person but not the best teacher

Avoid this class unless you have to take it. Subject matter is dry and hasn't changed in a good 100 yrs, and neither has Thero's method of teaching it. He knows his subject, but lacks either the capacity or the effort to teach it clearly. Every class is a rambling disorganized lecture.

I was just reading everyones comments so i had to post something! I took his class last yr and although it may not be the most fun topic he is a GREAT teacher! Very sweet and very helpful! Would without a doubt recommend him!

He is a really great guy and always there to help. It might not be my topic of interest, but he gives really good study guides for tests. Overall a really nice guy. AND compared to the other philosophy teachers, he is the best!

Everything you've heard is true. He is dry, unenthusiastic, serious, and yes, he stutters - but, is it wrong that I think he's cute as a button? He wears these little sweater vests & he makes these subtle jokes that are so quiet that I can only catch them bc I sit in the front row..he's sweet as hell and really tries, he's just too smart to be fun

Often goes on tangents, doesn't follow syllabus, so don't get scared. Responds and reacts to irrelevant questions, only offers a 2.5 hr course and is very dry. At least 5 people sleeping in class each class. AWFUL.
