I love Daniel. He's the reason why I became a Spanish major. The books he assigns to read are so interesting and he really wants to help us. Don't skip class though, participation matters.

Comment:

Not the biggest fan of this professor. He seemed to move at the pace he felt comfortable, without regard to how the students were feeling. If you were confused about something, he became easily frustrated rather than being helpful. Also, make sure you are not even 1 minute late to class, or he will take off major points it feels like high school!

Comment:

Daniel is a great professor. We watched a lot of movies, read a book that was in English, and had 6 compositions (5 in class) as our grade. Participation does matter, and it is the only thing that upsets him if you skip class. He is a great professor, and I would definitely take again.

Dr. Torres is wonderful. I was nervous about taking an entire class that focuses on speaking but his practice made me better at it. No exams in this class, just compositions and lots of reading. Definitely take it with him!

Dr. Torres is an awesome guy. He is a native Spanish speaker and you can tell he loves teaching. He's always willing to help students and he keeps classes fun and entertaining. He can be a little repetitive, but he makes up for it by playing songs at the beginning of class. He tries to improve everyone's skills, definitely take him!!!

Dr. Torres is an amazing professor. I took 355 with him while in Mexico and took 356 when I came back. The courses were challenging, but I felt they greatly increased my reading comprehension and appreciation for the content. Very enthusiastic and intelligent. Fun in class with YouTube videos and listening to music on his iPod!

class is very predictable, has its ups and downs.... not much of a theater person, but Torres got me through it. very keen to students...he smells fear. if you didn't read and don't know the answer, he WILL call on you

I thought D.Torres was a great teacher. He was always willing to help you out if you missed class or didn't understand something. He doesn't have any tests. The workload is incredibly easy. Only a few 3 pages papers in Spanish. Otherwise just a little vocab and such in the workbook. We watched really great movies and had good discussions.

not impressed at all...i think he needs to come down to the student's level...teaching is all about reciprocating and knowing how to reach your students rather than spitting garbage in their face.
