Professor DiLeo's class was by far the greatest single class that I have taken in my life. You only turn in a 1 page paper weekly about the subjects, and a final analysis at the end. He knows what he is talking about, and it is clear. I can confidently say that i learned more in this class than any other class i have ever taken, and i got a C.

DiLeo is incredibly approachable and his genuine interest in hearing the perspectives of his students goes a long way toward fostering an easygoing class environment. 1 page summaries of assigned chapters are given each week and a final multi-page reflection paper are the only things he grade on. Remarkably bright and kind, you won't regret him.

Professor Dileo is one of the best professors I have ever had, hands down!!! I never thought I would care so much about the Vietnam War, but he makes he makes the subject so interesting. If you have the chance to take him please do! You will not regret it!!

Interesting lectures. Requires good critical thinking skills. He provides great insight into modern history research as well. His grading criteria is tricky to grasp, so I wouldn't immediately recommend him. However, I'd definitely recommend him if you are majoring in history.

Zero tests, and only one major paper. Homework is every week but only takes about an hour or so to complete. Class was extremely interesting and he presents the topic in a very enjoyable light. He makes you think and delve deeper into a subject that is often skipped over. If you enjoy history this is a great class for you.

I like Dr. DiLeo as a person, but the three hour HIST15 lectures were tortuously long and boring most weeks. He set up a homework system so that you really can't miss class. One typed page due at the end of class, and on the back of that page you take lecture notes. He takes attendance based on who picks up their paper from the previous week.

You have to like History to take this class. Dileo is inspirational, manages to be unbiased and informative. I love that he goes above and beyond to dig up the nature of the war rather than just the dates and people. Came in knowing nothing about Vietnam, walked out feeling confident in my knowledge.

David is an amazing teacher. For someone who does not like history, his class was bearable. A little boring, but he is a great teacher. Would highly recommend! Weekly readings and homework, but nothing you can't finish in a few hours right before class

This is my second time taking one of David's classes, and I have to say once again I am blown away by this man's extremely extensive knowledge about history. The class is fantastic, no testsquizzes, just a daily sheet of paper you turn in with bullet points about the reading. One essay and thats it. Take this class if you have the chance!

I took several classes under David. He is stellar. Fact is, if you are a student of political history you could not hope for a better teacher - regardless of where you go to college or how much money you have. DD is a true scholar. In my top ten teachers of all time.

I really disliked this class. Yes he is a good teacher, very smart and passionate, but his class is all about critical thinking. Which for someone like me, who hates history, was hard. I found it incredibly boring. If you just need a history requirement do not take this class. But if you love history this is for you.

What a great professor! Very inspiring. He leads class discussions that are thought provoking and interesting. He clearly knows his history and is constantly teaching the class new things while always staying interested in what we have to say. There's a reading assignment due every week, a midterm, and a final. Would definitely recommend!
