This class was by far one of my favorites; however, you do have to work for your grade. Funder gives 4 40 question midterms that are easy to pass as long as you do your reading and in my opinion attend lectures. He is an old school lecturer, so he doesn't read off of power points but his lectures are really interesting and easy to follow.

Dr. Funder is an amazing Professor! I thoroughly enjoyed taking his class. He gives 4 midterms over the course of the quarter and the final exam is cumulative. The class is pretty difficult; you definitely have to work hard for a good grade. He wrote the textbook and all of the midterms are 100% from the textbook and lecture so you have to READ!!

YES textbooks. Need to go to class? NAH. BUT, he throws in about 4 extra credit opportunities that go straight towards your midterms & finals so I mean the choice is yours. It really saves your grade though. He made the exams esp hard for FALL 2018, so he gave us a generous curve in the end. The exam is on the harder side, so study a week+2 in adv

He a really great professor! He knows his stuff. Lots of info learned in this class but exams are pretty straightforward. The textbook reeaally helps on the exams and it was interesting to read. TA's go over literature relating to personality topics, but are pretty separate from the actual lecture material. I enjoyed this class and Funder a ton!

I loved his class, but keep in mind there is a good amount of people that don't. You have two books, and yes you do actually have to read them BOTH! Overall there is a lot of work; so do not slack! The first exam was week 2 on at least 4 chapters. Still his class is manageable and definitely worth taking. He is brilliant.

He's an amazing lecturer, really inspiring! absolutely love him. Attendance not mandatory but if you go he gives extra credit that goes towards your exams. No electronics allowed whatsoever, no slides, he hands out the printed lecture outline & just talks. Quiz every week based on 2-3 articles, plus 2-3 papers assigned. Oh yeah plus he's hilarious.

Funder was great, he teaches using outlines that he provides prior to lecture and while lecture is not required it is HIGHLY recommended as he does "pop quizzes" (which are actually extra credit points for the exams). Even if you get the question wrong you get 1 pt for your name. Read the textbook!! Most of the test questions are based on the book.

Buying the book is a must or scan it at the library. Reading is more important than lectures. Most of the exam content is straight from the book. I found exams to be more difficult than they needed to be. Extra credit pop quizzes in lecture. Roughly 8 bonus points per exam. 3 2-page essays throughout the semester. quizzes on weekly readings.

Dr. Funder's class was 100% lecture style. He didn't use powerpoint, just an outline he handed out before class. You have to take notes on his lecture, which I didnt find hard because I prefer this. Also, if you attend class regularly and pay attention to his anecdotes, you'll get a ton of extra credit on exams! Graded by few things but not hard.

Go to class, he gives "Pop quizzes" which is really just extra credit, and these points are added to your midterms. his pop quizzes usually have to do with the stories he tells in class. you have to read the book for this class! I cant stress that enough

Great Professor. Professor Funder's class was really interesting and engaging. His book (which he wrote) adds on to the lectures and students should read it. Attend class, easy extra credit from the pop quizzes! Pay attention to class real well and you'll do good. Helpful outlines and loved his class. I took the class Fall 2014.

Extra credit points in beginning of lectures (Go! it may save your grade) Midterms aren't as hard as some people are saying. Remember the main points of each chaptersection and you'll do fine. Not going to lie, chapters are long so don't procrastinate on reading them. Quizzes on readings are simple and straightforward

Lecture attendance will earn you extra credit that will be applied towards tests through pop quizzes. The exams are almost entirely based on the textbook. It's not enough to understand the concept but know the who and what behind every theory introduced and so forth. Class appears to be graded on a curve.

He will definitely make you think a lot about your life, and remind you how lucky you are for going to college, which I really appreciated. His exams are heavily based on the book. Read every word in each chapter, most of the time its enlightening. Don't think you can pass without reading the book. Lecture notes are not enough.

Really going to miss this class. Dr. Funder was hilarious. I didnt mind his digression because his anecdotes were amusing. Extra credit points, which he gave in lecture, helps. And also, those who say his tests are hard--yes they are, but the TAs write them, not Funder. I would recommend his class and I would also take another class if he taught.

Test are very very hard!! But everything else was not. Extra credit points if you go to class were helpful. His test questions are mainly from the book and barely any of the questions were from lecture. He kind of just rambles in lecture....

PROS:This class was VERY interesting, probably the most amusing I've had. Funder had me paying attention to every word. CONS:The text was a must for me (but also very interesting) and the short essays got annoying. Also, on a personal level, he seems very into himself & not very willing to help, BUT I would take this class again just for fun.
