I do not understand the trend of negative comments on this profile. Ault is intelligent and the course in extremely interesting (especially for those who fancy comics, animation, and the beauty of colorful storytelling). While a more enjoyable course than most, LIT 3003 is by no means an easy "A". Pay attention and you will learn.

First of all it's almost impossible to hear this man even though he uses a microphone. But overall, the class requires almost no effort and the papers are easy. Good teacher to take when you're looking for a mindless class.

(Romantic poetry) If you are an English major or like myself just really want to learn take this professor. He is not always easy to follow, but if you take the time to do the readings before class you will learn an IMMENSE amount. Also very very helpful if you make an effort to talk to him. He can change your "vision" of english if you let him.

I've taken two classes with Professor Ault. He's very kind and fair with his grading. Sometimes it's a little difficult to follow his trains of thought, but he's undeniably intelligent. Give yourself time for his comments to sink in, and you'll be just fine in his class.

A humorously grouchy old man- brilliant but doesn't know how to present the information in a way that we would understand. I took this class to learn about comics, but usually, I had no idea what he was mumbling about (it was rarely comics). Show up and put some effort into assignments (2 papers) and you get an A without really having learned much.

D.r Ault is by far the best teacher I have had here at UF. It was an honor to take his classes. Word of warning, the class, be it comics, romantic period, or visual textuality, is much more enjoyable if you read the material he recommends. It is one of those classes where there is 42 minutes of utter confusion, but then 8 minutes of brilliance. He'

Ault is a great guy. I am interested in comics & things related, so I thought I would enjoy the class. I have to be honest though, and say I basically did homework for other classes the whole time. Some class days were really fun, but mostly people don't want to engage in anything, so he picks a hard topic to talk about and no one listens :( Had tw

Ault is a great guy. However, his labrynthian mind is difficult to navigate. You'll clueless what is going on schedule or work wise. But he is a genius, just sit, absorb, and listen. It will all sink in later. He's a very fair grader. Ault is always good for a fun class. If you've never studied theory. You will be lost if you've never taken theory

Visual Textuality. The class is about comics and cartoons, especially Disney types and superheroes. There's not too much involved, Ault is a nice old guy and if I wasn't graduating, I'd take him again. At least in my class, one paper at the end of the semester, no quizzes or tests.

If you are actually interested in learning, don't bother. This professor is surrounded by slacker students who worship him for his lack of homework; he worships them for their complements-- it's a symbiotic relationship o' BS. He won't explain anything. He'll blow off the class, and then expect you to take it seriously. A waste of money and time

Horrible. Incomprehensible. Dont waste your time buying a textbook because he never does anything with it. Only needed the coursepacks for one in-class assignment. If you like structure (or knowing what is going on) DONT TAKE THIS CLASS. He is boring. You cant understand him. He doesnt know what hes doing. The TA is a real witch, too. Not worth it.

Hilarious!! I loved going to this class, it was so fun. Ault is a wonderful man. He's a fascinating fellow and I loved watching all the animation and reading the comics. Really got me interested. At times the class is confusing because you have no idea what you're doing in terms of homework, but it all comes out right in the end!

I couldn't agree with the last post more. Some days you will be sitting in class confused about everything, and the very next day you will be enlightened by some off the wall idea. He is one of those professors that just wants you to walk away having learned something worthwhile. And not just **** some useless assignment that was on a syllabus

You won't reach the end of the syllabus because he can't ever fit all his knowledge into the short class sessions, but don't worry, just write your paper on Donald Duck and you'll be fine.

Ault is absolutely the most eccentric human being you will ever meet--and that's not a bad thing! His class is a mixture of super-boring and randomly hilarious, but the readings are great, and he's a super-easy grader (he wouldn't give anyone in my class less than a B- on one of our essays). Over time, I believe he will turn into Donald Duck...
