He would give a study guide and then the test would be nothing like the study guide. He expected way too much learning from reading out of the book, and his lectures almost made him seem like a robot who would just rewrite his notes.

Comment:

If you don't like just reading a textbook, and learning on your own don't take this class. Physics in general isn't easy, unless you love it, but taking it online is the most difficult class I've ever taken. The lab kit in itself is $175. If you're not good at taking online classes such as math, do not take this class.

Honestly, Dusty has been the worst teacher that I have ever had since kindergarten. He has a difficult time explaining things because he is a little autistic. He also doesn't explain or give examples of the formula or when to use them. He expects his students to already know physics, but we don't; that's why we're taking the class!

The Material can be tough but Dusty always makes himself available to gain a better understanding. He pushes his students to work hard. In his classes, putting in the effort really counts.

Dusty seems as though he sincerely wants you to learn and pass the course. He is genuinely concerned when you aren't following the subject and takes the time to help you - not give you answers, but to help get your mind on the right track.

I attended every lecture and learned nothing until I got home and explored other sources. The textbook is a joke. What's more, Dusty does not teach, is clearly bored, and has no enthusiasm for the material. He recites from the textbook and provides little to no explanation. We're students, not colleagues, which clearly bothers him. Good grief.

Dusty and the horrible text made physics an absolute nightmare for all involved in the class. I learned basically nothing through the class. The only things I learned were what me and my partners figured out on our own through something awesome. Called the internet. Dusty did not answer questions adequately or help us to succeed. Simply Awful.

Dusty does not actually teach. He reads from the book and gives the class formulas but doesn't tell how to use them or give examples. If you ask a question about the homework, he looks at you like you're an idiot or not getting it. Don't think I'm someone who "doesn't belong in college." Before this class, I had a 4.0 and have strong math skills.

First off, I wasn't too excited about taking physics in the first place, but it is required for my desired major. Overall the class was very hard for me, but this is my first term in college. If you put forth the time and the effort, I believe anyone can get a good grade from Dusty. He has lots of office hours and is more than happy to clarify.

Dusty is a great guy, and a decent teacher, but what really irked me throughout the sequence was the awful 'Six Ideas that Shaped Physics' text he chose for the class. This isn't Dusty's fault, but the fact that the class only met once a week, meant for a grueling 6 hour experience, and should be considered for any student considering this class.

I took a ton of science classes, both from Dusty and later at SOU and OSU. The people who gave Dusty poor marks frankly have no business in college or should switch to liberal arts. Dusty is awesome and if you can't learn it from him, you ain't never gonna git it.

Great professor. The material covered in his classes is more indepth than university level. I was well prepared for upper-division science. And, if I tried hard enough, I could probably build a time-machine! Plus, he likes cats and he understands wierd sci-fi jokes. The Schrodinger's cat shirt is funny.

Great Professor & his classes are challenging. Earned my respect and I know that if anybody else taught that class I would not have enjoyed it or passed it. His selflessness when it comes to helping his students understand subject matter is off the charts. He's definitely the best Professor I've ever had hands down.Very well rounded preson.
