Dr. Baumann is extremely intelligent and actually teaches material that you have to think through. He does not just give out good grades and makes you work, but he works with you and helps you to take pride and ownership. The only people I've met who don't like him are those who do not like to think through issues and just want an attendance grade.

Where do I begin? I found Dr. Baumann to be a downright unpleasant human being. Dr. B took the opportunity to use his class to degrade the area of teaching that I and several others in class chose often. In addition, he abused his position as a professor and hung my grade over my head..exactly what we were taught not to do!

Great class, but teacher-centered. No tests, but the readings are time-consuming and papers are a lot of work--typical grad-level library campout. Lectures are good, unless you're a dyed-in-the-wool right-winger. Just for fun, get him going on NCLB.

Real nice prof. I felt like our class was a joke to him though. He didnt seem to care much. Daily classes were easy, vut then we'd have quizes/ tests over uncovered material.
