Comment:

Professor McKenna is not only one of the wisest human I have met in life but also one of the most inspiring and devoted teachers I have known so far. Being an expert in economics, he articulates every lesson in an intro class to even the ones who have not familiarized with the topic.

He is my favorite professor at Conn. He always makes sure that you understand what he just taught and he really wants you to succeed in that class. He is there to help you whenever you have questions and the way he teaches is really genuine and inspiring.

Professor McKenna is in my opinion and in the opinion of other faculty members, the best economics professor at Conn. He knows exactly what he's talking about and presents clearly the information you need to know. He wants students to succeed so he'll help you out if you ask. Only complaints, he covers material quickly and his writing can be messy

I don't usually bother rating professors but this guy I have to give him a Grammy. In my entire Econ major I haven't met anybody like him. He is intelligent and comprehensive. If you really want to learn and learn some more, he is the guy you want. He will make you work for all the good reasons, he will open your mind and your thinking abilities.

Comment:

Prof. McKenna, beyond everything else, is an intellectual. Talk to him as much as possible. Chances are you might disagree with him. Make sure to engage him in conversations and cross-question him, he won't mind. Try your best to get him to do an independent study with him. You will learn a lot about economics that you otherwise never will.

Holy crap does McKenna go fast! The trick is to write down everything he says as fast as you can, then teach it to yourself at night. Don't do the reading for this class, it will only make you more confused. McKenna is great though and the packets he hands out are super helpful - basically the answers to the tests. Just study the problem sets.

We were scared of the material at first (on the first day 3 students dropped the class). Only Prof. McKenna, with his extensive knowledge and eloquence, could ever make Inflation and Unemployment into an enjoyable and informative class. I can't say enough about him.

This guy is the best, the master, when it comes to economics. Yes, he goes a little fast, but he knows the answer to all your questions and is a really nice person to boot. Plus he prints out his lecture notes. What more could you ask?
