Comment:

Dr. Walker is not very trustworthy. I had to miss an exam, and I let him know this on the fist day. He initially told me he would work with me and to contact him two weeks out from the exam. When I did, he told me there was nothing he could do and I would have to take a zero on the exam. I ended up paying a private tutor to get a decent grade.

Comment:

Dr. Walkers 2300 class is alright. He isnt that engaging, but I found out (after bombing the second test and doing some soul-searching) that it really doesnt matter, given that you care about academics. By the time the exam rolled around, I found 2300 to be funeven if it were in a vaguely masochistic way. Good luck!

Dr. Walker is honestly a really nice man. His lectures cover what they need to to get you a good grade but that depends if you pay attention or not. Try to do the hw and listen to him and you'll be fine.

Professor Walker is an average professor. He gives decent lectures, and is usually available during office hours if you ask. The hw and constant online quizzes are annoying, but you can boost up your grade if you do well in lab. He sometimes rushes during lecture, but he will explain something more in detail if you ask. He's a decent teacher.

Get ready for an entire semester of him using terms that he never defines. He just expects that all of his students are masters of statistician vocabulary, and never stops to think that we don't all have PHDs in stats. He is easily the worst professor I have ever had at Clemson, and my GPA clearly reflects that. AVOID AT ALL COSTS, he is horrific

The lecture guide/notebook that is required was super helpful and it tracks along exactly with his slides. During the first unit, I felt confident and did well but the 2nd and 3rd test get harder-- so don't fall behind!

Horrible professor. If he just sent out video lectures off youtube you would learn better. Reads right from slides, moves too fast for you to even write, oh and also extremely rude. Wouldn't recommend emailing him asking questions because he sends back a rude response as if you're testing his intelligence. Lab sucks but its more helpful than class.

Prof. Walker basically just tells dad jokes all class, but he's a solid teacher. If you pay attention and follow along with the notes, the topics are easy to understand and he's more than willing to answer questions if you need help. Tests are a little tricky because there are a lot of picky, detailed parts but overall aren't too bad.

class is boring and painful. the homework gives you a lot of tries, but are used up fast when nothing is explained. forget about the tests, very hard and unclear grading. nice guy, difficult teacher.

Mediocre to poor lectures with unimaginative examples, poor pacing, non-existent class participation. Homework questions are extremely limited in an online format and inaccessible for study and review once submitted. He will not review answers on test prep. Non-approachable and extremely rude. Seek help from other sources, if possible.

I was very surprised to see all the bad reviews of Dr. Walker. I found him to be a very good professor. The book with notes for the class literally gives you everything you need to know and lecture pretty much just goes through those notes. I think Dr. Walker is very good at explaining the material.

The material is pretty boring, but he explains it well. He goes through the class workbook (which has all of your notes) and the HW helps understanding the material better. Stats is overall pretty easy math; however, the tests don't have a lot of problems and if you get one wrong it takes off a lot of points which starts racking up.

Really smart guy, really bad teacher. A student pointed out that a different equation could be used to solve the same problem with a different solution and Walker admitted it could, but just brushed it off and left everyone very confused. I have never had a problem with a math course until I took him.

We were given a note taking guide for class that was basically our book. I didn't learn anything from Walker, other than going to class for the notes. Also, reworking problems in hw is what helped me pass the class, not Walker's teaching. He's monotoned and never really elaborates on topics.

Dr. Walker was VERY helpful. He goes over notes, then hands out a "group quiz" that saved my whole grade. The material gets tougher, but don't hesitate to ask questions, he'll go out of his way to make sure you understand. I hate math, but he made the class more tolerable. Numerous tries to get homework correct.

LOVE WALKER. I really think he should have a higher rating, because he's my favorite professor. He is SO, SO nice. He will help you out so much if you ask and if you miss an assignment he will let you make it up. His lectures are great, and he teaches very clearly! Homework is online with multiple attempts & online quizzes every weekend.

Walker's class is very straight-forward. The test questions pretty much come straight from the examples in class and the past exams. Homework is due sporadically and quizzes are just like the homework problems. Very laid back and understanding.

Quizzes and homework were difficult, but the tests are pretty easy. He puts up last semesters tests and uses pretty much the same questions. He is really smart and knows what he's talking about, and is willing to help. Also willing to bump up your final grade if you have shown effort.

Erwin teaches straight from the lecture guide, but the lecture guide is exactly what is on the test. He will help and clarify with or without asking and gives reviews before the tests that are helpful, no outside work besides the online math. He is a nice guy and I got out of class early almost everyday. Would recommend

Comment:

He's someone whose hand you'd like to shake due to how nice he is. That being said, he's only average at explaining the material. I think he knows so much statistics that it's hard for him to explain to amateurs. However, he does do his best to provide examples and works out problems on the board. I would recommend him to anyone.
