He is really passionate about math and lecroix, and answers questions well if you ask them. Best advice: please do the extra credit study guides. They are exactly what your test is, and will boost your test grade by up to two letter grades if they are ATTEMPTED well. Please do them! They saved my grade.

He's a good guy but his lectures can be kind of confusing. I spent a lot of time on youtube learning, final was a summary of all the tests. Just study for the class and you'll be okay, (no notecards, or calculator) on exam.

The best professor I've ever had for a math class. His lectures are very engaging and interesting. Made everything look really easy, the homework and practice exam questions are harder than the actual exams so you should be perfectly fine in passing. He gives out a lot of extra credit points for exams to really boost up your grade.

Lectures are for those who like fast-paced teaching -- if you can't follow him the first day you likely won't ever be able to for the entire semester. Homework is okay, he gives a lot of practise questions (but his exams tend to be harder and he grades very harshly) for extra credit.

Professor Rivera is one of the best math teachers I have ever had. At first I was skeptical because he is a fast speaker in class, but after a while you get used to it. Also, in prep for his exams, he gives TWO practice midterms. And if you turn in solutions to those practice exams, you get 20 points extra credit! Very easy to get an A+.

AMAZING professor. He does give a lot of homework, but his lectures are clear and he makes students participate by doing problems on the board which I personally found helpful. He gives extra credit as well, but as long as you do the homework and review for tests, it's definitely an easy A. His sense of humor also makes calculus more bearable.

Prof. Rivera's Math 30 class was great! He really cares about his students passing. His exams were not tricky, as long as you do your homework on time then you should do fine on the tests! A lot of homework but definitely doable and helpful. Calc is a tough class, but he explains it as if it was super simple and easy. Take him!

Prof Rivera is the best! His teaching is extremely clear and practical. We go through the lesson and with every new concept, we do practice problems. He has students try the practice problems on his whiteboard and corrects/aids them when needed.Tests are difficult if you have not practiced beyond the hw. Overall, hes super, you actually learn a lot

Love this professor. He takes a different approach than most math professor I have taken. He is all about solving problems and concepts. We do a lot of problems in class and work them out fast. He is funny and sort of sassy in class. He is sort of picky on tests. Study, practice, and understand the lessons, you should do well.

Great calculus professor. He is very explicit, helpful when approaching him, and never a boring lecturer. He is is not an easy professor but neither is he too hard, it's calculus after all the subject is a bit hard.Great at what he does and that is teaching it. If you do all homework's, extra credit, and study for a bit, tests will be a cake.

Has a bit of an accent, but it doesn't make him hard to understand just some funny phrases. Pay attention and don't miss HW and you'll pass just fine. No curve, but he swaps your lowest test score with the highest. Very responsive to questions in class, online, and during office hours.

He is always helpful during office hours and is sympathetic. He replaces the worst test score with your best score out of the four midterms. Gives plenty of tries on the homework for WebAssign.

Ferdie opened my eyes to so many ways of teaching math that I never experienced when I was in high school. He's very passionate about teaching math, and was always helpful, even after the class was over. He shaped the way I use technology, manipulatives, and projects in my classroom.

take him! he has an accent, but you can most likely understand what he's saying. pretty much explains everything, though i find it a bore because it's elementary school math. he has 3 tests plus a final. hw is due at each test. there are "labs" every week but since we had furloughs he just gave us the credit.easy A if you understand the material

I loved this class! He was such a great teacher! Attendance is not mandatory but necessary for an A in the class. Homework is managable and he gives you plenty of time to get it done. The investigations were challenging but fun. I highly reccomend you take his class!

He's a really cool teacher. He's funny and really makes math more enjoyable. He collects the homework three times a semester and only has 2 exams, plus the final. Very easy class, and a good class to take if you plan on becoming an elementary school teacher!
