Holy cow this class was hard to take online in a flex time period. Dr. Farquharson makes himself available to his online students yet if you don't know the material, you most likely will not get it. Everything is on MyMathLab. Exams are long and more challenging than the homework. Good luck.

Comment:

The material wouldnt have been as difficult if he had taught it keeping in mind he was teaching STUDENTS new to this subject. He taught it in a way he personally found made sense. He made COUNTLESS mistakes in every lecture and never noticed unless someone pointed it out and rushed through everything because he talks too much at the start.

the worst! I got a C & I'm good at math. He wouldn't teach would just write out the problem on the board & say whatever it was and then move on to the next. When I asked him to break it down into steps or how he got the answer, he would do it the same way again or say he had to move on. Class CONSTANTLY correcting his math mistakes, every day!!!!!!

He teaches as if everyone know the subject like he does. He rushes though the chapters and there is no refresher on what you went over the class before. Either you get it or you dont. I only recommend him if you are good in math. If you struggle in math, he isnt the teacher for you.

I had taken college algebra twice before and was so frustrated until i took this professor. I finally understood math. Just make sure you go to class and just listen and take notes. He is really really good.

Not a bad professor, mainly because you teach yourself. Pretty much watching the videos and taking the notes by yourself, the professor does not come in to play AT ALL during the course of this online class. Not a bad class though, pretty easy honestly.

Honestly, professor Farquharson was all over the place the entire semester. He would constantly backtrack when writing the problems on the board and took entirely too long to make everything look perfect. He over explains things that don't really matter and is confused by his own questions. If I could have chosen another professor, I would.

This professor is AMAZING. He does color code a lot, but it's good so you wont get lost. The tests and quizzes are exactly like the homework. I highly suggest to not skip class because he explains everything way better than math lab or the textbook. Apply yourself and do the work. It's not hard to get an A.

Professor Farquharson is an amazing professor. I am not the best at math but his teaching style made sense to me and he was willing to work with his students and break down whatever he needed to. His grading is fair. The only way you don't pass his class is if you don't apply yourself. If you do all the work he assigns and participate, you'll pass.

Professor Farquharson is a nice guy but not a good teacher. When he writes them on the board he is constantly correcting himself. This made note taking very hard. He also is a professor who isnt just content with teaching the subject, he wants to teach life lessons as well. I wish I never took his class.

So let me start off by saying that I like maths a lot and although I might not be great at it, I generally find out patterns in equations, etc. on my own. I'm taking this class as a prerequisite for Calc w/ Analytic Geo. This professor was the best because he only gives out homework and exams. He is willing to help you even via Skype so take him!!!

I am recent graduate from UF and I must say, "if it wasnt for this professor, I would not have succeeded through me math courses". I enjoyed the class and appreciated everything he did to teach me what I needed to know to succeed.
