Comment:

Professor Nyline is excellent at what he does, and you can tell that he's been doing it for a while. His conducting style is just a little weird, but once you are past that, he's great at what he does. He is brimming with jokes and positive comments (but isnt afraid of neg), and with my experience with conductors in the past, he is by far the best.

Nyline is a very jolly man and funny as well. As for conducting in varsity band it was hard to follow. I don't think he cared at all about varsity band and he didn't care to try and make us better. I quit band and gave up a scholarship because of him. I've heard things are different in the top bands, but I wouldn't know.

His conducting style takes a few rehearsals to get used to but once you get used to it, its easy to follow. Some of the music he picks may be older, but its mostly very good and certainly fun to play. Is generally very fair in the audition process too. Has many fun anecdotes and jokes.
