Freeman does not create a learning positive class. I often felt too uncomfortable to ask questions or participate because of his tendency to humiliate students. Often times he laughs at those who are wrong and does not help students who are struggling. Homework and studying is difficult to do outside and he seeks very specific answers when signing.

He is an extremely strict grader. I took an easier asl class before and did great in it. Knowing some of this would be repeated info i thought it might not be so bad but i was wrong. He is funny, but cruel when giving criticism. I worked with other people (deaf and hearing) who told me i did great but i got bad grades from King. Due dates unclear.

LOVE Professor King!! Definitely a hard class, but hey you are learning a new language. It takes time to master, but I have never laughed until I cried so many times in a class. He really wants you to learn . He understands it is hard, but that doesn't mean you get any slack. If you want to really learn ASL, I recommend King 100%. DO NOT MISS OUT

Great professor! Don't get me wrong, you'll work hard for an A, but an A is definitely attainable if you put in the effort. Very good at conveying the information, very approachable with questions, and willing to go the extra mile to help you understand the material if you're struggling. I've taken multiple classes from him, and would do so again.

King is self righteous and runs the class by intimidation. He is not very organized, quizzes every week, culture experiences, a big project and a final. Fun, not really hard but you need a thick skin to get through it. You have to go to class because he doesn't follow any kind of schedule.

Great class and King really knows his stuff..very informative and every deaf education teacher should listen to what he has to say!!! Tests were very reasonable and learning information was priceless
