GREAT professor! Take advantage of in-class opportunities to ask HW questions! Very approachable. He does not do in-class quizzes which help ease anxiety with constant test-taking throughout the semester outside of standard exams. I'm sad he doesn't teach Physics 2 b/c I would def take again!

By far one of my favorite professors. His lecturing is clear and precise. He truly cares about his students learning. Allows us to ask homework questions. Tests aren't too bad but not the easiest. They consist of 25 MC which include problems and conceptual questions. If you have the option to take him, I would cause he really made my day sometimes.

Challenging material with an emphasis on math application that students may not have experienced before. Show up and actively engage to maximize your chances of success. Malek is excited about the material and he cares about his students, but he can't do the heavy lifting for you. Conceptual mastery is paramount versus plug and chug solutions.

He is very passionate about this subject, and that makes it more fun and interesting. The lectures can be pretty hard to follow, and there isn't a lot of homework but it is very challenging and not super similar to what you go over in class. He does give a lot of days to go over the homework in class though. The labs are the best part of the class

This teacher is almost too smart for his own good. I didn't like how he explained things very much, but it was still a doable class. the exams used to be very easy and exactly what was expected but towards the end he switched it up and my grades tanked. The homework is way too hard and not like the test, just use chegg for answers.

Their isn't a lot of homework but the homework was very challenging. The test's aren't nearly as difficult but this still demands a lot of your time. Make sure you go to class.

Malek is awesome, one of the best teachers I've ever had. This was my first time taking a physics class ever and I enjoyed it. It's a math heavy class. He values hard work and likes to see that you're trying. It's a hard class, but Malek is extremely helpful and kind. Exams are 20 MC questions. 13-14 conceptual and 6-7 math. I would take him again.

Heavy on Math. Tons of homework. Homework is due the day you finish covering the material you need to understand to complete the homework. :( The tests are only 20 questions, but he does not do partial credit for numerical problems. He gives good notes, but rushes through them. Don't miss class. He's passionate about the subject.

Professor is clear on grading. He also grades thing on time, gives feedback. Always willing to help, even outside of class. Lectures are note-heavy but he goes through everything & explains very well. He is interactive with class, using examples from his own life to explain physics concepts. Good sense of humor. Attendance heavily recommended.

He knows his stuff and likes teaching it. He is willing to help you understand concepts. The online book is a PITA so he encourages you to buy an older version. Overall he is a good guy, physics is just confusing.

ONLY take physics 1 w/ Malek. He does not expect students 2 already understand physics concepts. He provides a note packet that is filled out during the lectures. Students feel comfortable asking any ?, he is aware this is a difficult subject & works to make it achievable if u try. My highest compliment is that he is a highly skilled educator.

This was a tough class. He is a wonderful professor. He loves what he teaches, and he will inspire you to want to do well for him. That being said, this is a difficult class. The online homework is much harder than the work done in class, which is sometimes frustrating. The material requires work to get down, but he is always willing to help out.

Fantastic teacher that does an excellent job with difficult subject matters. I've taken over 150 hours of collegiate credits, and professor Malek is among the best teachers I've had. He goes as far as preparing an outline for your notes, and is always willing to help students in need. It's not an easy class, but well worth it.

Awesome teacher. Very nice man, approachable and helpful. The class is difficult, but if you do the homework and study for the tests, you'll do fine. I don't care too much for physics, but Professor Malek is good at explaining everything. It is obvious that he truly enjoys teaching.
