She takes off so many points for minor errors, or even when you got the answer right if you don't "elaborate" enough, she would give you 0. She doesn't go over a single practice test question and her questions are over-twisted. It's like she doesn't want us to get good grades. She doesn't even make notes during class and talks extremely fast.

Grace is a very approachable professor. She enjoys clarifying things if you take questions to her, and her tests emphasize on materials that have been brought up repeatedly in classes (so attend the lectures! They are very helpful). Her schedule does not go according to the numerical order of the textbook chapters, but they are on the syllabus.

Grace is a solid professor. I loved the class but it was difficult. The syllabus says 2 hours of homework to every hour of class time and she means it. I took it during a 20 credit load and it was brutal, but if you can put the time needed in you'll do well and learn a lot! An awesome grade is not out of reach but will take work.

I was literally interested to see what we would be studying each day. The final group project was an experiment conducted throughout the quarter in the college greenhouse. I learned a lot about the inner workings of plants in this course. You can survive without the textbook in this course as long as you show up every day. Grace knows her stuff!

I had Grace 12 years ago to satisfy the lab science requirement for my AA. I am in graduate school after having been a scientist and educator for 8 years. My personal bridge from wanting to get an AA so I can leave school quickly, to becoming a scientist, was this class. I am thankful for Grace's instruction, it helped me find my direction in life.

Grace is a GREAT instructor-- but only if you're willing/able to put in the work. Hers are definitely classes where you'll spend a lot of time with your notes and probably in her office asking questions. If you're not a science major, I'd recommend having hers as one of your only classes.

Grace is very kind and is intelligent on subject matter. She can answer pretty much any question you have. Sometimes lectures were a little slow, but I still learned from them. Grace is a tough grader but she gives very helpful feedback, especially on research papers. You will need to put in a lot of time and effort to get an A.

No answer keys for any exams and doesn't go over them in class. Questions? Go to office hours if you have time for that. Provides a list of necessities for lab assignments but no full credit because she will make up what else she wants while she's grading it, same or exams. Your answer is never good enough even if you answer the question.

Awesome professor, I have taken her many times for different subjects. While, regretfully, I am not the best student, she is an excellent teacher and I have learned a lot and been inspired by her a great deal. HIGHLY recommend Grace!

Grace is very knowledgeable and is always willing to help you out. My only grudge with this class is how lengthy and difficult her tests are, and that tests account for nearly 60% of your grade. This class is supposedly for non-science majors, but it didn't feel that way. I am a 4.0 student and let's just say I did not get a 4.0 in this class.

I just finished up the Bio series and I'm so glad Dr. Sparks taught Bio 213 (Plant, Bacteria, Ecology, etc). Some of the exam questions were apply-your-knowledge themed, but tests were fair and doable--- THINK, and ask for clarity with questions if you're not sure. Lab was great; fun AND educational! I really wish she had taught Bio 212.

This class was co-taught with another instructor which only seemed to confuse the course. While the subject matter is fantastic, the long lecture times were wasted. Laid back teaching style didn't fit with the fussy testinggrading.

Dr Grace is not a good instructor by any means. She doesn't have notes to read and her exams are extremely hard. I haven't got anything in this class. It is a waste of time and energy. If you want to get good grades never take it with her. She deducts a lot of points for minor mistakes. She is the worst teacher I have ever had in Biology.

Too bad she was our only option for this course. Her lectures and coursework will in no way prepare you for her tests. To make matters worse she never goes over them or leaves keys outside her office. She uses A LOT of old regurgitated material. Be ready to be a 4.0 student and not get a 4.0. Her class needs reformatting and some fresh energy.

Grace was nice enough, but don't let that fool you, her exams are HARD!! Her lecture consists of her asking you questions, which was very annoying. Overall she was OK, I learned what I needed to - I'd take her class again.

Ok, She is definately a nice and helpful instructor. But HER EXAM IS A MESS. She might be the only one what the question is saying and also She takes your point off for lil things. So if you need to take biology 213 NEVER TAKE GRACE!!!!!!!!!!! It was the huge mistake I made in my life

Grace is an exceptional teacher who really excels in helping all of her students in a fair and equal manner. Highly effective labs and field trips. Be prepared to study for her tests though, they are TOUGH! I definitely recommend having some background in this subject and possibly some chemistry as well.
