Comment:

Dr. Schwarz is the best lecturer I've ever had. He is extremely knowledgeable on many topics, teaches you how to read a text and understand it and is always there if you have a question. I've learnt so much from him and appreciate his way of teaching even though it requires a certain grade of literary knowledge beforehand.

Comment:

Always liked Dr. Schwarz's classes when I was at Dal, but it's only in retrospect nearing the end of my graduate study that I realize just how amazing a professor and mentor he really is. A life-changing professor, truly- if you show interest and ask good questions and *remember* the most important points, he will teach you how to read a text.

The class I took was interesting, but I find it hard to follow what he is saying. Not often straight to the point explanation, but he's always available for office hours and will help you with any questions.

Comment:

Take any Germ lit or philosophy course from Schwarz. He is more knowledgeable than any other prof I've encountered at Dal with his tradtional European education. You'll learn so much in 1 hr you will be stunned. Don't expect hand-holding and he lectures quickly, but he is very nice and will meet with you outside class to help whenever needed.
