Comment:

Professor Farmer was easily the best English teacher I've had at the college level. His 1B course covers a broad spectrum of material; from poetry, allegory, Shakespeare and everything in between. He's also a genuinely nice guy, and is not a pee-brained liberal like most of Foothill faculty. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I took him in '05 -- truly an excellent professor. The best. I loved his reading list, his lectures, and his humor. Also, I felt safe in expressing my views, even if they were contrary to his. He is fair and will give you the grade you deserve.

He is very nice! A bit shy but if you are looking for an eng class where you'll learn everything you need to without the heavy load that other teachers usually bring and a fair grader, this is who you're looking for. I don't mean that he is easy but rather well balanced. Not too little and not too much!! Speak up in class, it's like x-credit.

He may be a nice guy but his class is unbearingly uninteresting.students look at the clock all the time.he has a weak, boring voice and talks very slowly. highly inarticulate. He is close minded in topics like homosexuality(hefinds it funny)and totaly impassionate abt his materials.He didnt even like the book he chose!Isn't clear abt what to teach

Mr. farmers is a great proffesor if you write well to begin with; his comments are helpful but not specific. I also took 1A with him. If you do the readings, participate in class, write well and turn in essays on time it's a sure A. If you don't like to read, don't come to class and or don't turn in your work don't take farmer.

He is the best english teacher there is if you have been brushing up on your psychic abilities. Trade in those writing skills for mind powers, easy A! If you do not get an A, you are just not good enough at reading minds and need to stop blaming the teacher. Of COURSE he wont teach you to write, what do you think this is, an english class?

I really liked Mr. Farmer. He's super liberal and knows how to get a discussion going. If you aren't a good writer, I wouldn't suggest taking his class though. He doesn't sympathize with people who can't use grammer correctly. But then again, we're in college now, so I suppose its to be expected. If you like english, you'll like his class.

Farmer is a very passionate man. He was very fair in grading. He is very interested in what us students have to say. As a conspiracy theorist, I get into trouble with some instructors especially P/T instructors and those who are too P.C. Farmer was very open and didn't judge. If all instructors were like Farmer, it would be a match made in heaven.

I don't know what the people saying it's so hard are smoking. Mr. Farmer simply expects you to have a grasp of proper grammar. If you're not a good writer, don't take his class. Simple as that. Your grade is based on a few essays, and if you can't write well, take a different class. It's easy to get an A on the essays

One of the most wonderful and understanding teachers. There are a few essays to write and quizes and tests, but if you need help, he is there. theres a lot of reading to do but its not too bad. he is really cool when you get to talk to him one on one.
