Lectures are very interesting, interactive and with lots of relevant videos/clips. Good lecturer and material. Exams are fairly easy and based entirely on the readings.

TA has complete control of your grade rather than her. Takes at least 3 weeks (up to a month) to get your grades back. Lectures are good.

She's a really good teacher but this class isn't a grade booster, you need too read all the articles and I honestly would forget everything really easily probably won't do well but I don't think that should make you not want to take the course because I learned a lot

She herself is super inspiring, for a 100 level course, the midterm and final were VERY hard.

Her lectures are interestingly fun but sometimes she just reads off her powerpoint outline. The exam questions seemed easy but our TA marked our midterm extremely hard. The final was a long take home exam so do your readings weekly. Class was enjoyable overall but your grades will depend entirely on your TA so communicate religiously with her/him.

Really nice and always open to questions! Lectures are important because she further explains a lot of the stuff that is in the notes she posts on canvas, but the content isn't too difficult, and it's really interesting.

Super friendly, clear and professional lecturer. Can clearly see her passion and interest in the subject without bias. Go to lecture, keep up with the material and you should be able to do fairly well.

Helen is a great professor, she's engaging, approachable and super nice. easy marker too. i took a film class and Helen tried to make the material interesting, but i actually didn't like the films that much. i found them long, sometimes awkward, and too artsy for my taste. however, if you like film, this give this class a try

Helen is an amazing prof, she knows her stuff and is always willing to help her students better understand the material. Questions were encouraged in class and she marks fair, what you put in is what you get out. Textbook readings are relevant to the weekly topics and are super interesting. Would definitely take another class with her.

Although I've had intro classes with Helen and have enjoyed them, this particular class was pretty ridiculous.A lot of tedious group discussion, and 5 entire books assigned.Very hard to stay engaged w/material, especially b/c Helen's discussion facilitation was often repetitious and even a bit self serving. Her intro classes are alot better tho!

Professor Leung is a fantastic lecturer. Since I was a 4th year taking a 100 level class I didn't get to interact with her as much as I would of liked, but I will definitely take a class with her again. She was very kind, helpful and understanding if you every needed to talk to her and totally whipped my TA into shape! It was much appreciated.

Helen is an excellent prof, one of the best at SFU! Her PowerPoint slides were easy to read, eye-catching, and the movies in class were entertaining and relevant to the class. Fair and generous marker. I got 100% on the midterm and didn't study. She's amazing -- I have her next semester for GDST 301. Can't wait!

She is a great teacher, and the course is pretty easy. I got my first A in her class midterm! You can relate the course material to your own life so it's not difficult to understand at all. GDST200 is a fantastic elective course and I would recommend it to everyone.
