Comment:
He flies through 2-3 chapters every class and expects you to keep up. Don't bother planning your schedule for the semester because he constantly changes the dates for exams and assignments. He's cocky and acts like he's above you. Don't ask him to repeat something he just said or he'll make you look like an idiot in front of the class.

Very knowledgable in tax but he doesn't know how to simply difficult concepts. He lectures like you already have a background in tax. The content on the exams is a complete surprise. The homework problems are never like the exam questions. However, he is generous with partial credit on the exams.

Comment:
Dr. Redpath is very knowledgable on Taxes, but is terrible at communicating it with his tests as they're nothing like what the textbook says. He should be teaching Ethics in Tax and not the concepts of Tax.

Don't worry about not having a book he reads straight from it for half the class. Be prepared to cover 6 chapters in 30 minutes the class before the exam. Then he'll be BAFFLED as to why no one remembered what to do. So much partial credit is offered to make up for the lack of material actually taught. You'll learn to teach yourself quickly. Njoy

Dr. Redpath is an amazing professor! He is lenient with grading, gives partial credit. All quizzes done online, homework assigned but not collected, 3 exams including final. Very knowledgeable, I would highly recommend him.

One of the most respected professors within the "Tax Law" world on a national level. One of the few that works within the industry and teaches from experience.

Read the book over and over, specific things on tests he doesn't talk about in lectures, book not that in depth but tests go beyond our understanding. Homeworks and quizzes were online, but the test were random tidbits of information someone would not have to memorize in the real world.

Dr. Redpath is a jolly professor. I really enjoyed his stories of playing in the NFL, especially his time with the Green Bay Packers. He's a professor who sticks to his gut.

If you show up to class and take notes you will have the answers right in front of you. 2 takehome exams that were talked about in class, thus just take notes and you are fine. He explains it well and knows what he is talking about, as he has much experience and isn't afraid to speak his mind rather than BS you.

After first semester I thought I was going to fail and ended up with a B. Next semester was even more impossible but ended up with an A- It's hard to explain until you've taken tax. I recommend being nice to the guy and he will go easier on all you poor suckers trying to memorize the U.S. tax code...

He is the one of the best professors at canisius. I thought this would be a hard class but he is extremely knowledgeable on the subject which makes it easier to understand this boring class. I took him over the summer and we only had two take home exams.. I would definitely recommend taking him especially for a easy summer class.

Very good professor.. he can't make this class much easier than this. Took him for a summer session. He is very easy going but look for in depth knowledge of the subject in the exams. I definitely recommend him for legal ethics & environment.

geez-watch out for this guy. he cancels classes but expects to still cover all of the topics in the syllabus. our final was on 13 chapters, on top of 13 quizzes and two enormous tax returns...all in the last two weeks of classes. he FLIES through the material and hardly teaches. he does know what he is talking about though, just can't teach well
