3 papers with very clear instructions just follow them and it's an easy A. She has TA's that review your drafts to make corrections. Midterm has 50 questions and final 100 questions. Final is harder because it's more of the biological aspect where you need to label body parts. Class average wasn't great so so she gave everyone an extra 9 points.

Because of the size of the class she is pretty inaccessible during class as well as through email. She also talks nonstop, almost a constant stream of commentary through the entire (50 min) class. She also does not source any of her stats during lecture and does not have any sources on her lecture notes either. It seems sketchy that there is none.

Ivy's lectures are very entertaining! She shows many video clips relevant to lecture and includes jokes. She is very clear on what she expects in class and what to do to pass/get a good grade. Attendance is extra credit. 3 papers. Midterm and final are multiple choice and T/F. Currently taking SXS/PSY 320 with her as well for a summer course.

show everyday to get attendance points, get the workbook which is an easy 10 points, do the essays and if the T.A. gives a low grade then tell Ivy and she will change the grade. she gives the answers to the test questions in class.

she does clicker question which count for attendance, and attendance is extra credit. Turn in the essays in on time, and get full credit. The T.A. grade hard and take off points for unnecessary things, but just tell Ivy and she will change the grade. Get the workbook because it is an easy 10 points.

We Stan Ivy Chen she is one of the few good professors at this university. She makes classes really fun and interactive which in my opinion helps students learn much better rather than a full by the book lecture.

I actually really enjoyed her class! Easy pass to with an A long as you do the exams, tests, and workbook well. Exams are based off lectures & iclicker Q and some from her book. Essays are ok and she pretty much laid out what she wants but her TAs grade pretty strict so make sure to follow the format.

Ivys fun and her class is interesting. The tests are based on clicker questions and lectures, sometimes she throws in stuff from the books. I didnt buy the book cause they were expensive and it seemed like she just wanted to advertise her book. Its worth 5% of your grade. 3 papers that were easy. A midterm, and a final thsts cumulative.

Very easy class. You are graded by a few things, so make sure you put in effort for those essays. Study for the midterm (50 questions) & final (100 questions & its cummulative). You get an additional 3% extra credit for attendance at the end of the semester. Workbook & healthshop you must do. Annoying thing is that she comes in late all the time.

Always 10-15 minutes late. Then she spends another 10 talking about non-important things until we actually get into lecture. The class is basically sex ed, common knowledge. I wouldn't purchase her book, and save $50 or how ever much it is. You do need to purchase the workbook. The three essays are easy. This class doesn't require much effort.

Ivy is AWESOME! I took 2 of her classes in one semester and they were my favorites! She has a great syllabus and is pretty clear with her expectations as well as our assignments. I don't like that we had to buy SO MANY books (expensive ones) which she also co-authors, of course. Other than that, I really enjoyed it and totally recommend her classes

She made more excuses than my 3 yr old does about going to bed on time. Didn't answer e-mails but sent out endless spam, was 10-20 mins late to every lecture (claimed she was sick but reviews show this is a years-old problem), tried holding the class after, and was totally misinformed in her lessons. I do not recommend this instructor at all.

If you want an easy A, this class is for you. Don't get the books. I never read any of the materials and still got an A. If you want accurate science (not popular science) and a knowledgeable instructor, look elsewhere.

Save your $ and take this requirement at a junior college. If you have to take it at SFSU, don't take this professor. She was always late, never available via email, and talked to us like we were 12. Spent an awkward amount of time looking at male organs and skimmed over females and played very biased videos most days. Not education-based at all.

This prof holds the record for the number of times I walked out of the lecture because it was so far off base and a total waste of my time & money. Still passed with an A and didn't look at any of the "required materials" (save your money, don't get the books). You won't get an education from this instructor but your GPA will improve/remain high.

Clear grading criteria, but she's very biased in her lectures. Her sources were sketchy, lots of youtube videos. Felt like the class was a waste of my time. I wanted to learn about contemporary sexuality, but we spent most the time talking about puberty and social media movements. Not very college-level educational. Also, don't buy the books!

She's hard to get in contact w/ outside of class even though she has 4+ student aids. She never showed up on time which got pretty annoying. I don't feel like she taught me anything new or worthwhile. If you show up to the lectures though, she'll give you all the answers to the exams so it's an easy A. Don't buy the books, you won't use them.
