Comment:

Dr. Hill was super passionate about the class and cared about his students. Read before class because there are pop quizzes. Follow the guides exactly and you will have an easy A. Has an extra credit paper option. Attendance is mandatory but you get 1 skip. Has two breaks during class so it makes it manageable. He doesn't allow technology.

Comment:

Dr. Hill is awesome! I'm a senior pre-med student and was always interested in his lectures because he clearly knows what he's talking about. Do the readings because there are pop quizzes, and prepare to take hand written notes because he doesn't allow computers. This was an easy A for me but I truly enjoyed the class. Take Dr. Hill if you can!

Christian Ethics: The material is very pc, which makes it a bit dull. Core Christian values are watered down. You're asked to work on a semester-long paper on a topic of your choice, and my favorite part was listening to other students' presentations on their topics.

Comment:

Dr. Hill is an amazing professor. He gives great lectures. He gives in class quizzes so be sure to read your text daily. 3 exams, and an extra credit assignment. Dr. Hill is accessible, and very understanding. I enjoyed his class greatly. I would definitely take his course again. overall, great professor! One advice-Take him!

Comment:

Very nice guy and very passionate about religion. Tends to lecture on and on while the whole class is lost and confused. Attendance is mandatory or he'll drop your letter grades after two absences, pop quizzes, assigns an average of 30 pages total each class, exams are mc, fill in the blank, matching and two essays. Grades easier than expected.

Ideal class for people with busy schedules that are fairly adept at taking good notes and memorizing. Do the reading since quizzes are unannounced. Exams are straightforward and come straight off the study guide.

This teacher is the best I've had on campus. I'm a senior PreMed student with absolutely no free time to study for other classes. This class is SUPER manageable, not to mention SO interesting. Jack Hill is the man! He cares so much about his students and wants them to succeed! He gives you extra credit and you know EXACTLY what's coming on the test

Dr. Hill is a great professor. He has a lot of knowledge about world religion and is fun to talk to, and doesn't just lecture the whole class. You do need to buy the textbook and read since he has pop quizzes, but his tests and quizzes are straightforward and he provides extra credit. Overall wonderful guy. Take him!

This guy is the worst. Get prepared because its WAY harder than you expect. He is a nice guy in general, but if you enroll in this class, BACK OUT NOW WHILE YOU STILL CAN!!!! None of his stuff makes sense.

There are only two tests, participation is a must as it is part of the grade. He does tend to be scatter brain and hands out supplemental information one, by one. He tends to talk past class time every so often, and he gets off track. He does make himself available and helps clarify. Tests are not extremely hard, but you will need to read.

One of the most disappointing courses I took at TCU. If you are willing to conform to HIS expected ethical views, its an easy A. However, if you aren't willing to drink the kool aid and actually put forth ideas that might challenge others to think, expect to be graded harshly. Don't expect to grow as a global citizen in this class.

Dr. Hill is one of the nicest professors I have ever had. He is extremely helpful and will help you in any way he can if you go in and talk to him about what you need as a student. He gives pop quizzes so you HAVE TO read what he gives you. If you have a really busy schedule I would suggest not taking this class. I took 18 hours and it was crazy.

You will be expected to read the textbook before class because there are pop quizzes. However, that's the only homework you have. Also, the test are very easy if you read, take notes in class, and do the study my guides provided. The test are almost identical to the study guides. Attendance is not required to pass but he does take roll everyday.

Dr. Hill is a very knowledgable professor and creates interesting class discussions. He does give pop quizzes so you have to keep up with the reading, but always gives good study guides for tests and the test questions are straight from the guide. Super nice and always willing to help. One of my favorite teachers so far!

Dr Hill loves what he does and is an amazing professor. He was always willing to help and his lectures were awesome. They were an hour and a half long but that didn't seem it because he made them so interesting because he talked about his travels and you could tell he has a passion for teaching. Take his class!

Comment:

You'll never get out early from night class, but an A is very possible if you put some studying into the tests! For the first test, know all the people from the readings and make sure you look up other unfamiliar topics in the reading. For the second test, don't read-all you need are the ethicist handouts. Grades the final paper easy.

In general, very nice person and cares about students. Interesting lectures that really help with studying for tests. Have to do a lot of out of class reading, as he has pop quizzes over the reading. But reading goes hand-in-hand for the lecture the next class period. Gives study guides before tests so it's clear what is or isn't on the test

THE BEST RELIGION PPROFESSOR HERE AT TCU!!! must go to class for attendance but classis very interesting. every lecture test is easy due to the study guide that he gives out before every test and if it is not on the guide then its not on the test. must do readings because quizzes come from them. really undrstanding prof and always willing to help!

Comment:

Religious Communitites- Pretty easy. He gives a study guide for the tests and never puts things on the test that aren't on the guide. He talks a lot though about things that are totally irrelevant. Lots of stories. Can get frustrating. MUST GO TO CLASS.
