shes super strict about doing assignments and encourages a lot of class discussion. shes very passionate about dance. only allowed one absence. there are weekly writing assignments based on readings. in class we watched films and discussed them at length. theres a midterm. you will have to dance for the final.

Hard grader but if you do assignments in a timely manner & put effort throughout the semester, she'll notice & reward appropriately. Moderate-high amount of short readings & summaries. Open book midterm & freestyle final. I’ve learned a lot about history & dance from her. Take her if you wanna learn. Don’t do it if you think it’s an easy class.

Love her dearly! She is not a joke, I agree, but what do you expect from a great, knowledgeable professor - she fits her purpose - to educate! take her class! be ready to discuss what you've read and write - she works with you, explains how to write and it eventually will help you in the future!

Her class is no joke. There is a lot of reading and a lot of writing and discussion. I feel as though some of her topics are a tad irrelevant to dance history. Nonetheless, you will learn a whole lot from a very knowledgeable professor. Well worth it, in my opinion.

You write a journal every week on the ridiculous amount of reading she gives you. Theres a book report on a famous dancer. And her final is a take home or in person analysis of what you learned. Its a lot of reading, but shes really knowledgeable.
