Comment:
The grading scale on this class is ridiculous. Bindell grades on 4 subcategories, which supposedly hold the same amount of weight (participation is the same as homework or project reports) the class is mostly self taught because the "lectures" were useless

Pros: Funny. No tests/exams. groups are fun if you like working with people. Easy to get a B. Cons: His humor sometimes borders on being rude. Getting an A in the class requires constant monitoring of assignment grades, which he doesn't always provide in a timely manner(or at all). TA's make mistakes on grading assignments. No +/- scale

Those who failed this class didn't try. He doesn't give anything but As and Bs to those who do the work it's that simple. The Mazur class doesn't have tests and is easy to get a B in.

Took his studio physics class last semester. Horrible course. Wish that I had taken the regular class instead of the studio. Every thing seems so disorganized in this class.

Took him for physics 2. This class was the one based off of Harvards Mazur course. Very odd class. easy to pass if you participate. Didnt enjoy the class very much. Didnt learn very much ( you kinda teach yourself). Group based. lots of projects and assignments. No tests tho really. He tried his best to make the odd curriculum work.

Took it Scale-up. Really fun easy class. If you do hw then you are already really prepared for the tests. Test very similar to hw, quizzes and in-class probs. Every quiz/test has a failing average but if you actually study(HW/quizzes/ inclass) you will know everything. If you do better than the average you should be fine.

Exams are homework problems. Barely use the book. In class activities are usually pretty difficult problems that take work to set up. Pretty clear. Doesn't update grades much and is unclear about grading scale so it is a crap shoot figuring out what your grade is. Participate and do the homework (and study those problems) and it is a breeze.

He kind of explains the theory/topic behind the current chapter and expects you to figure out calculus problems. Luckily half of the exam questions are HW, and the grading scale is heavily weighted. Its still an extremely stressful class, even if you can pass with a 60 average. Very bad at updating grades so you never know how you are doing. Meh.

This guy will make your life a living nightmare. Tests you on things not covered in class and fails to actually teach. Your grade is a big joke in his eyes. I suggest taking the lecture if you enjoy your GPA.

STUDIO PHYSICS- this class was definitely better than the regular physics. Bindell makes many corny jokes, overall nice guy. The tests aren't hard just read the book and keep up with the labs as well as the HW. He drops the lowest test, the final isn't bad if you have enough time to study for it and attendance is compulsory.

What a goofy guy...only 4-8 questions on exams, so you study a ton of concepts and only get tested on a few. Usually a couple tricky conceptual questions and a few questions straight from the hw. His teaching drove me crazy tho, he is super slow, but his random offhand comments would wake me up...not to laugh, just to more or less shake my head

This was one of the most funniest, sarcastic professors I have ever had. He opened up a separate room so he could answer questions for his office hours, he answers e-mails that day, he gives hints for the exam, he is very generous with giving points back. If you fail his course, your just a plain slacker and want a silver platter handed to you.

Physics is hard, but this is the guy to make it fun. Hands down best physics instuctor at UCF. He has tons and tons of office hours to see him. HE spent 20 minutes trying to explain a stupid Fish problem to me and waited till I finaly understood it fully. Do your work and you will do fine!!!

Hes awesome. Physics is a boring subject that no one likes..but he makes it some what fun. Tests are a bit hard but if you read the book and look at the HINTS he give you you will be fine. Tests are only 20% of grade, so do good on homework and lab and u will get a B hands down.

This is the first professor I had who called me a pain in the ass. I found four problems on our first test that were wrong on the key...He is not THAT horrible, however, the way he teaches is not the most helpful. The music intertwined makes it harder, not more interesting. I wish I would have taken a diff prof. 3 exams(drop one) Then one final
