Joe is an awesome professor and in general a great person. He has helped me immensely with my writing. I've taken three classes with him. He's such an easy grader. If you do your work and talk every now and then in class, you'll do great. He gives great writing advice as he's written quite a few books, and he's interested in helping you succeed.

He was a very respectful, professional and respected professor. If you work hard and you speak up in class you will do well!

Mr. Monninger is a horrible professor. He pryed into my personal life to the point of making me uncomfortable. He looked down on everyone and didn't respect any of us. It got to the point where I didn't want to go to class because he would just rip students apart. I hated him.

Joe is an awesome professor. He likes to make you think about the way our society really works. Be prepared to answer some tough questions during discussions, but he does it to make you see other points of views. There are few tests in this class but do expect to read and write essays often.

He is a difficult professor at times but will try to incite a reaction by bringing up current events. He wants to make his students think and tries to get them to learn. There isn't a ton of direction with his assignments-very much a "figure it out as you go" type class. Be prepared to defend your positions and beliefs because he'll question you

He is by far the the WORST teacher & advisor, and the most pretentious person I have ever met. He is extremely moody & arrogant. I would never suggest anyone take his class unless you want to sit in on a lecture about his life achievements. Also, be sure to use your manners around him & be respectful, but don't expect the same from him.

Not as dedicated as other professors I've had, but good enough. Joe is good for people who like class discussion although watch out he's very set in his beliefs and ideas. Assignments are very unclear in direction (making it hard to excel unless he likes what you've done.Keeps you busy, but gives you enough time to complete assignments. Good humor.

Joe is a great writer and he really gives students a lot of information about writing in the real world and how to market their work. Personally I think he's a better writer than he is a teacher. He doesn't really give grades - or at least he didn't for our class - so you don't really know how you're doing until you get your final grade. He's al

I still have the "writing bible" that Joe created for my class, and it's been...10 years? I use it all the time. Joe knows his craft and isn't one of those "can't do, therefore teach" teachers. I teach myself now, and often hear his words popping out of my mouth to my students. The knowledge STAYS with you.

Professor Monniger is an okay professor. He seems to be uninterested at times in the product of his students, and he hates grades. As a person out of class he is fairly nice. From what I understand he has quite a bit of real world experience as a writer. Perhaps this makes him harder to deal with in class.

Joe is a talented professor, but he often looks down on his students. His classes are unfortunately early in the morning, which makes it difficult for insomniacs like myself to make it to his 8 AMs. I'm not a fan of Joe, but I can understand how some would enjoy him for being one of "the guys". He is no doubt a good writer, and perhaps this is what causes him to look down a bit on his students.

Joe is terrible. All he wants to talk about is himself and his published works. If he spent more time talking about the class and helping out, workshopping and less time talking about himself, he would be great. What a dolt.
