He gives a clear criteria and due dates for his essays, and a majority of class is either talking about readings or questions on any upcoming essays. Essays are what make a majority of your grade, and attendance is not mandatory, except for days in which things are due. Stamp is such a nice professor, I definitely recommend.

He is a tough grader, but will really help you with ideas and refining your essay during office hours + during class if you ask questions. He's pretty down to earth too, he'll crack a couple of jokes, etc.

Loved Professor Stamp! He really cares about how well his students are doing in his class. Attendance is recommended, but as long as you're doing well in the class, an absence here and there won't hurt. He is really good about answering questions in regards to the essays written for class. The article readings can get a little dry, but are easy.

I used to struggle with and HATE writing. However, I did not feel the same way after taking Dr. Stamp's class. He's a very caring teacher. Just go to office hours with good questions and then take his suggestions seriously. There were 3 take-home essay assignments and I received (in this order) a C+, a B, and an A.

Professor Stamp may be a tough grader, but his feed back is great when needed to make improvements on any other essays assigned. He gives pop quizzes so that students actually do the readings and attendance is important to ones grade as well. During his lectures he likes to really go into detail and be as clear as possible about any assignments.

I took him back in winter quarter and to be honest, I have to retake this class since I got a C-. Not really cool but anyway, he is very awkward and doesn't really help if you are in the danger zone of failing. I think the easiest essay we wrote was the final and 4th essay just because it wasn't online based articles. Avoid this teacher.

You have to be able to write well and have your own voice. If your essays flow and make some kind of sense, you'll do fine. Definitely go to office hours; he will shower you with ideas. For instance, I struggled to write 3-4 pages, but with all of his ideas, I easily wrote 8 and had to take out chunks I really liked. OH's will save your grade. Go.

One of the finest English teachers I've had. He's straightforward and lays out his expectations for his students. There isn't much reading assignments--one book for the quarter. Discussions were fairly interesting and diverse. Fair grader. Good feedbacks on writing assignments. Open minded teacher. Write anything you want.

Mr. Stamp is awkward but very will to help. You must go to office hour if you want a good grade. Not much readings for this class. But essays may be graded unfairly. One of the hardest instructors that I had to write for. Even though I received an A- I busted my balls. Good luck and go to office hours.

This class was terrible. I went to his office hours several times for suggestions for improvement on both past essays and future ones. However, he could not give any constructive comments. I wrote the same on all my essays & spent more time on the second and third essays but ended by getting B-'s on them even though I got an A on the first one. ?!!

I thought he would be an easy teacher that taught well based on the other reviews, but he was horrible. i went to office hours and still struggled with my grade. out of the 18 students in the class only about 14 passed. everyone else got C- or lower, which made them have to repeat the class. it was bad..

Professor Stamp is a great teacher. Personally, if you want an A, write your papers a few days ahead of time and go to office hours for him to check it. The Final ( take home essay) boosted my grade to an A. He makes class really fun too. Make sure you also participate in class because attendance and participating counts for 10% of your grade!

He's is really fair at grading, well he's extremely easy and nice, super helpful during office hours, try to take him if you can, he usually lets you leave early like 5-10 minutes. reading is not really necessary but there is like 1 or 2 quizes in which you have to take.
