Excellent, knowledgeable, focused. He knows social work agency dynamics inside and out. Ive been in the field for decades and this professor knows what he is talking about. He is so on point, I cannot fathom the negative reviews. My guess is that they will change their minds in a few years.

John Tropman is a legend. He is extremely smart and has so much knowledge. I learned a lot from him in budgeting and fiscal management. He is definitely a talker though, so be prepared to go off topic multiple times, but he is great, and his metaphors are hilarious. Take him, it's worth it.

If you're a Ross student, he's a good professor. For a Social Work student, I would recommend not taking his courses. He tends to brag about himself, tell stories about family, etc. instead of teaching his class, and at the same time will easily give out poor grades for his unclear assignments that have few (if any) guidelines. Avoid his classes!

Dr. Tropman is a very good professor. If you want to learn take this professor. There is a lot of reading and writing however; it's worth every bit of your time. He is very knowledgeable about leadership, business and its application to being a leader in Social Work. I would recommend his course to any Graduate Social Work Student.

I had 3 hours a day with this guy. Every week, he talked about the same thing, and I don't remember any of it. Very boring and unorganized. Loves to brag about himself, and made us buy a book that he wrote that we never once used or needed for the class.

Wow... that's all i can say. 1 semester with this guy and i couldn't tell you anything he's said or why it's important. horribly unorganized, and very self-absorbed. he'll talk to you for hours about nothing... STAY AWAY!
