Comment:
Dr. Vincent is a good professor who clearly possesses an in depth understanding of the material, so much so that it can be intimidating at times. However, he shows that he cares how his students perform in his class and wants them to succeed. Test grades usually spanned a broad range, but if you study you will be fine.

Mr. Vincent is overall a great teacher. I struggled with him at first because I was lazy at the beginning of the semester. Just go to class and pay attention. He writes all his notes on the board, you just have to study what he tells you to study and get together with the classmates or read the book for anything you don't understand.

Acts like a know it all considering how much he truly doesn't know. I went in for office hours and would stump him on some of our homework problems. His explanations were vague and his lectures were average at best. Ended up getting a tutor

I would stay away from Vincent at all costs, plain and simple. It was a difficult class, but not impossible if you study. Just don't take this class, unless you want a teacher who is condescending and makes you feel like your questions are dumb.

Comment:
After the first test, I rarely went to class and just read the book for the tests. His lectures are kind of vague and if you aren't familiar with the topic he doesn't do a very good job of explaining it. The book makes it easy to understand and puts it in better order than he teaches. His tests are pretty much right out of the book so read it.

DONT Take him! Heis so bad. Some of the math problems he won't work out fully he'll say "you should already know how to do this". Test questions are very challenging. The lecture seems easy but he only teaches the gist of it and expects you to learn the rest. First test avg for the class was 60% so you tell me if it's him or the students, good luck

I took Dr. Vincent this semester, and actually really enjoyed the class. He is your average chemistry professor in college. His sense of humor is a bit dry, so he can definitely come across poorly to some people. If you go to class, pay attention, take notes, and do your homework, you should do fine in this class.

Comment:
Although CH 102 is a tough class, I found his exams to be somewhat unfair. He asks the most obscure questions and he tries to trick you on many of the problems. If you don't know the basic concepts, you won't pass. I believe that he teaches material somewhat well, but you have to study extensively to do about average. Attendance is a must.

He knows what he is talking about but seems to forget the students dont. The majority of the class failed his first test and his study guide looks like something he wrote hastily five minutes before class. The tests are math heavy and he doesnt give you a formula sheet despite saying he doesnt want us to memorize but understand.

Only 102 teacher who does not give formula sheets or constants on the test. The class average for test 1 (Chapters 11-13) was a 60.

Vincent was a decent teacher. He only does written notes, which I liked as it forced me to pay attention and copy them down. He also gave helpful study guides before each exam. Overall though, he wasn't an exceptional instructor, and was kind of vague on a lot of concepts.

Vincent is good at chemistry. That does not make him good at teaching chemistry. He often asks questions designed to trick students on tests and is condescending in class. It is a better use of time to take a 102 professor with a good rating.

Comment:
Vincent is obviously a smart man, but try not to take his class. He asks questions on tests over the minutest of details and does attendance checks on them. He's very condescending in class and is hardly ever accessible outside of class. The homework is too easy compared to what the tests are and be prepared to read the textbook often.

His tests are pretty much designed to trick you as much as possible. Gives completely useless study guides and asks obscure questions no one could've possibly studied for. Not very good at explaining basic concepts. Took concepts I learned and understood from a different professor in 117 and made me not understand them anymore. Steer clear.

I took Dr. Vincent for 101 and went up to Honors 118 to stay with him. I think he is a great professor and a pretty funny guy. His lectures are clear and I think he explains concepts very well. If you go to class, take notes and study a lot before tests, using the study guides he gives you, you should do well in the class.

Dr. Vincent is a decent professor, but is not accessible outside of class. His tests are difficult but he always gives a comprehensive study guide before hand. He doesn't post his notes online so you need to go to class.

Test information is not always from the study guide he gives. Doesn't post notes online. Tests go into a lot of detail. Boring lectures. The only plus is that he sometimes does demonstrations in class.

He's just bad at explaining simple concepts. He's very intelligent and knowledgeable but at the regular 101 he's a struggle.

Comment:
Vincents notes were right out of the textbook and would not explain anything. Also he would write his notes down which were difficult at times to read because of his handwriting. He gives out study guides for the test but were not very helpful because they would just be the topics we covered and no explanation on the things we covered.
