This class is nothing but lecture. His PowerPoints are super hard to follow along with, and the midterm and final exams were very specific and quite difficult. He also doesn't post grades online, and if you want to see your grade, you have to email him about it. This course was definitely a tough one, and you HAVE to pay attention in order to pass.

Worst professor I have ever had. I wish I could rate him a zero! Piles on too many lectures at once. Does not think about restrictions, such as work, when setting exam times. People may not be available to take the exams between NOON and 7PM!!!!!!!!

The class isn't easy by any means, but if you pay attention in class, take good notes, and study well in advanced of the exams, you'll do fine. He curved the exams, too, so that helped a ton. Case readings are easy. He's super accessible and answers questions very well.

You don't need the book, only the slides. He is very knowledgeable, but sometimes talks over your head. Super nice guy and typically an easy grader if he thinks you get the gist.

Excellent instructor. Everything is spelled out well at the beginning of the semester. He lectures during each class and posts the slides online. If the class is ahead, he will cancel a session. There are only 2 tests and no quizzes. Reading is not necessary to pass. The case studies are recent and relevant. Overall, a good experience.

Don't buy the book. You'll do find without. There's a few case studies given through the semester but they are easy. Powerpoints are posted online but the lectures are also helpful. Talks fast so be prepared. Only two tests but they were fairly difficult, however they are graded on a generous curve. Doesn't post grades online.

Comment:
His power points are extremely disorganized, a ton of misspellings and grammatical errors (JOURNALISM TEACHER, REALLY?) Once you figure out how he "organizes" them, they are useful. He talks really fast, so record lectures if you write slowly. He is super nice though and really helpful if you ask.

I really liked this class. His tests are a bit daunting but he grades on a generous curve. If you do the case studies well and study the helpful PowerPoints, you should be okay! Bjork is a really great professor too! Do not buy the textbook!!!!

Tests are very hard but luckily he grades on a curve (and the second is easier than the first because you know what to expect). The case studies are interesting and helpful when studying, but time-consuming. Bjork is really helpful and easy to work with and talk to about any problems. His powerpoints are excellent. Don't buy the book.

He's a very good teacher and he's clear on what you need to know for tests. The only homework he gives is a few case studies throughout the semester. They're simple and relevant to the chapter you are on. Tests are difficult, but there is a huge curve. He seems to really care about his students. Quite entertaining as well. Didn't open textbook once

Super nice guy Tough class if you aren't detail-oriented or a fast worker (in which case you probably shouldn't be in Journalism in the first place). half a point off for every AP style error for every assignment. An assignment started and finished in every class. But a very nice guy, really good lectures and powerpoints. Learned a TON.

Well if you are into guessing your grade, take the class. He is not organized and very tedious in teaching lectures. HIS CASE STUDIES ARE LONG THINKING AND ONLY WORTH 5POINTS

He is a good teacher and will help you when you ask, you can tell he knows what he is doing, he has a slight accent and dresses kind of funny, but it's an okay class.
