This class isn't growth oriented. The professor will grade you harshly on written work, when she has no clear grading criteria. Sure, there's a rubric, but she gives no actual feedback for you to improve. You pretty much use your pre-existing skill sets for this class, and if it's not enough for her, she won't help you better analyze literature.

Great class, follow the prompts, read, do you work and you will be fine. I've never expected to NOT work and pass, so submit your assignments on time and you will do well. Extra credit was good to have. Got to read some old interesting stories. Loved the fiction part. Miss McAlister gives good feedback. Done with Cypress College : ). THANK YOU.

Hello, I recommend you-tube if you need more analysis for the readings. The Extra credit assignment helped. Professor McAlister is very helpful. I was supposed to be done w/my GE requirements but university asked for 3 more humanity units, it worked well for me. 102 was fun : ) TAKE IT.

I took ENG102 online while doing 12 university summer units & I am at 88% . Eng102 is an interesting class, lotsa readings. if you resort to you-tube for analysis, you will do great. Not into fiction and poetry but got through well. If you do NOT want to do any work at all, then yes you would end up with this person below C- she was great in fact.

She is a great professor and super nice. Her instructions are clear and thorough. If you can't follow her directions, then it is your fault for not knowing how to read. I took her online class. Every week, there are chapter discussions which are fun because you get to interact with classmates and bounce ideas off each other.

She is really nice. Honestly I didnt get a good grade in her class but you will leave her class being a better critical think also use google chrome. Explore has too many issues. This class sparked my interest in Audibles. Although some might not recommend it was almost impossible for me to get through the material without them.

I love the idea of taking online classes, that is when you have a good teacher. Avoid this teacher at all costs! She takes forever to grade assignments, doesn't give clear expectations, and does not respond to emails after she stated how good she was at responding. Never again, will I take this teacher.

It's a critical thinking course so I can't stress how important it is to actually analyze and support your claims, etc. Discussion threads, chapter review questions, article analysis, and essays. She's clear-cut on feedback so take her feedback and you'll get an A in the class.

Doesn't usually respond to emails. Class wasn't hard and the topics for tests/quizzes were great. I felt the lack of exam questions examples and just general exam guiding; you had no idea what was going to be asked. Overall a good class, however.

Literally dropped me from the class for missing the intro assignment. I explained that my computer had technical issues and was not capable of accessing it, nor did I know it existed, since I was a late transfer and had not received her email assigning it. She didn't care. Total tyrant. Avoid at all costs.

I am taking this class online, I found it easy because the material is easy to follow, the instructions are clear, she gives good feedback, her grading is so good, she answers promptly to the emails... I have B overall grade up to now and I didn't felt like killing myself, I just like English and I love to write.

I took this class online and she required we read a novel every week, all related to monsters. There is a 7 page final formal essay and 3 other explications 1 mid term. Posting to discussion boards weekly and tests on each book that are all plot related. If you are looking for an easy A or B, avoid this class.

Comment:

I took McAlister for ENG 211 and loved her so much I took her for ENG 104 the next semester. She has a great energy and is clear in telling you everything she will have on exams and papers. The only difficult part about the class is she expects a lot of "meat" in essays. It should be easy though, due to her clarity in her lectures.
