Gill is a very established and accomplished anthropologist and will certainly challenge and transform your perspectives on the human element of globalization. Reading all class materials is essential. Class discussions are lively and fun.

She now teaches at Vanderbilt University in Tennessee and you should only take her classes if you are extremely interested in the material. You should also have a large basis of related knowledge already because she lectures slowlyyyyyy and boringly about people I don't know about without any explanation. Not exciting, skipped a lot.

She believes in her beliefs, that's for sure. If liberal opinions bother you, you might not enjoy the class. Her grading is fair, and she's approachable. She's a bit closed-minded; she knows what she knows. Stick with her beliefs and you will not go wrong. Gernerally a nice lady and curriculum is interesting.

possibly the best professor/teacher i've ever had! She is truly passionate about her subject and wants student to be as well, so is very open with discussion and expects a lot. Very liberal, so if the left side annoys you, dont be surprised if you don't enjoy the class.

Unfair grader. Does not grade acording to syllabus. If you do not hold her opinion WATCH OUT!! She will blatently make you look bad in front of the class if you have an opposite opinion. Her class is very unfair. She is the absolute worst professor I have ever had. She is very nice if you share her opinion.

You'd better hold the same opinion as her or watch out! She doesn't grade by the syllabus and is very unreceptive to any information that may contradict her belief system. Be prepeared to be graded based on your compatability to her and be aware that the department won't help you when you are.
