Comment:

SUPER CONFUSING test and readings. Her test do not make sense and even if you understand her readings you will somehow not pass the test because the questions are worded in a way where you will be left even more confused. 6 of the people I sit by all got the same questions wrong on the test which proves that we were all left confused.

Tends to sidetrack a lot on her lectures where it is hard to distinguish between her lecturing vs her mini-rambles w/o a PowerPoint or board outline Her midterm was very confusing and MC tricky Some HW is only 4 MC questions, very tricky as well Sensitive speech grading (Minor details can get you from an A to a B ) Final was more reasonable

You would think a speech class is simple, but this one was impossible to get an A in. There is a lot I learned in this class that was helpful as I do speak in public often. The final was at home with many questions. Overall she is a good teacher with many methods but if you are looking for an easy A, and are not a good public speaker, good luck.

Ms. Radford is an amazing teacher, I could care less what anyone says about her. She takes her time to not only help you in school materials but personal life as well. Easy grader, good advice, and pretty odd. I love her style of teaching and her enthusiasm. Midterm & final wont affect grade!! just do the speeches and dont be shy :)

Currently taking Speech1. The course material seems easy. You don't have to buy the expensive textbook -- her midterm comes straight from lecture. Her grading for speeches seems arbitrary, you can get mostly all check +'s and still get a B on the speech. Ask her for correct MLA format, it's not on her syllabus. Her attempt at humor is cringe-worthy

I think she is probably one of the worst professors ever. She grades your speech based on her mood and uses a check plus/minus system. Our speech sheets can look exactly the same but the final grade is completely different. Her midterm and final are unusually hard. She should stick with protesting. Waste of your time, find a better prof!

She is HILARIOUS, a bit sarcastic. A great speaker (obviously) and keeps her lectures interesting. Her tests are a little tricky, she tries to be unclear on purpose to see if youre paying attention. TAKE NOTES. she tests you on stuff she says in class, even if it sounds like conversation. 4 speeches and a final debate.

This is not an "easy A" class, but if you do the homework and prepare well for your speeches you will get a fair grade and helpful feedback. Class is somewhat disorganized and Prof. Radford entertains distractions, but the class gets to work together and build relationships which is cool.

got an A on every speech except for one that i never showed up for. talked to her about it and she said she would excuse it for me. I check my grade at the end of the semester and its a D. -_-...I tried emailing her twice in the last 2-3 months asking her wtf happened and she never responded. thanks alooot.

Several of my assignments were lost during the course of the class. I have had a very high GPA prior to taking the class. Even with a strong liberal arts background and speech experience in pursuing a law career, a good grade is just not possible.

I regret taking her after reading the misleading moronic reviews prior to a few reviews down. Yes, you do STUPID role plays, yes she calls on you, and yes, you do a 5-6 member group research final project with a min. of 11 pages. The book? We only read 2 stories from it. That's it! Tests (midterm and final) are HARD as sin. Thanks for the C Leslie.

This class was interesting and she knows her stuff. However her tests are extremly hard and tricky.Like the person below said stupid role plays that make any sense. We keep a journal which counts more than anything and there is a 20 page group paper, which nobody got along. Never uses textbook 40 bucks wasted and never responds to email. Dont take

If you're considering this class cuz you don't want to take Speech 1, STOP. Grade is determined by weekely HW & journals, 1 Midterm which is difficult and a Final. Don't forget the 15-20 page final GROUP research paper. You learn a lot in this class, but there is a lot of lame role-playing and group activities. Find a good SPEECH 1 teacher instead!

She should stick to protesting against the minutemen. Teaching is definitley not her thing. Irresponsible, ill-knowledged, and annoyingly cynnical. She works part time for a bunch of schools, and doesn't know how to distribute her time or attention. Waste of credentials. I'm a straight A student, and she really screwed me over.

This was the class I was dreading , but Leslie is very nice and down to earth. She wont make you do any speeches, which was great and she teaches you alot about communication and relationships. I learned alot in her class. Although her tests are difficult because there are alot of terms she uses to describe communication.

Very good professor. Just make sure you are not lazy or stupid and actually do your work. Do your research on the debate topics and come prepared. I am a business major but had alot of fun in her class. There was a discrepancy on my final grade which she was happy to take care of for me. Very liberal in her opinions but I still like her. Mike
