Comment:

Dr. Myers has so much knowledge and experience that she can feel intimidating to students. My experience was excellent. If you can open your mind, you will gain knowledge of the human condition you can not get elsewhere. She is an excellent and challenging professor.

Comment:

She is terrible! i don't ususally rate professors, but i don't want anyone to get stuck in the miserable situation i'm in. She is unorganzied and not helpful. I'm taking the course online and assignments/quizzes aren't open when they are supposed to be and her instructions are unclear, if there at all. do not take her. save yourself the headache.

Comment:

Simple online course, yet effective. She posts lectures online which is helpful. I love Dr. Myers. She mainly studies psychology of sex, which is interesting. If you have questions about that, she's your girl.

Comment:

Class not too bad. 3-week class, 2 test per week but it's expected due to Winter session. Plus other minor assignments. Must read chapters to pass test, ?'s are taken from book. Gives second attempt on test to improve grade. Uses Moodle for quizes and my pearson lab for other assignments. Class is fast paced but passable.

She is not warm and fuzzy. But she is smart and actually, very helpful. You have to get the guts to approach her but be firm and sell yourself and she'll respect it. She helped me a lot with my thesis and I respect her as an educator who asks students to stretch themselves. If you work hard, you can do well in her classes, no doubt.

She keeps you busy throughout the semester with readings and assignments, but they all have a purpose and are extremely helpful. Not a professor to take if you want to be a slacker, but really, if you want to be a slacker, you shouldn't be in college anyway! I love her.

terrible terrible for a thesis advisor...if I could redo my thesis experience I would have not chosen her. She really doesn't understand SPSS and avoided helping me with my thesis project in general and more specifically, when it came to SPSS. Unfortunatly, she is exactly what all the negative comments describe her to be.

I would recommend that you consider another university/major/program rather than have to take classes with this professor. I am not kidding. Ask people for their private opinions. I haven't heard anyone defend her. Go somewhere else. Really. Not worth it.

Her "method" is basically to give tons of handouts, assign tons of readings, and make lots of comments and then assign "comprehensive" papers in which you are to summarize everything she has given you but put it into "your own words" which she knows better than you. This is not teaching, it is simply busy work.

She is not "hot" and gets no chili pepper from me. Maybe that is why she is a "sex researcher"? She likes to say how busy she is but in like *every* *single* *class* she talks about some TV show she likes (usu. on HBO). A sad, angry unstable woman.

She is quite possibly the worst teacher in our program (next to Wakefield). She satisfies her own "needs" (for control, etc) in the classroom. She belittles students, harasses them, assigns vaguely and grades randomly. Incompetent. If I was her boss she'd be fired.

Did not structure the class in a way to maximize learning. More concerned with correcting grammar and punctuation than giving suggestions for how to improve the research. Her SPSS skills seemed very poor, which hindered the students' ability to ask questions.

Lin is knowledgable and often very gung ho in the beginning of the semester, but she often assigns so much work that even she can't keep up. She sometimes lets her personal problems interfere with her work. She pertends to be a hard ass, but she's actually a big push-over.
