Comment:

Loved Dr. Pavlik! She exemplified all the aspects I associated with a dev. psych professor (compassionate, nurturing). Some students struggled with understanding her grading structure (three written exams), but I found it very straightforward. The information you use in your written exams comes directly from the lecture notes, so do not skip.

Comment:

For the online class, she only assigns 3 exams, and within each exam are 3 essays which become pretty lengthy. Her written prompts for the exams are sometimes difficult to understand and if you do not hit every single aspect of each question, you will lose a substantial amount of points.

Comment:

The only thing required is 3 essays with 1 of them being optional. You actually have to read the textbook to be able to write them which does take a lot of time, and the essays turn out to be pretty lengthy. If that doesn't bother you, it's overall a very easy class and she's really helpful if you have any questions. I definitely recommend her!

She talks a lot but its good stuff. You dont have to attend class just show up for the test but I recommend you do because she gives out answers for the test. Shes real nice

She is a very good professor. She knows what she is doing. In her class we just have to do 2 test to pass the class. She gives extra credit in the review class. The best thing is before the test she gives us the exam paper. So we know definitely what's going to be on the test. I highly recommend this professor.

Class is lecture-heavy. Lots of notes. Prof gives out test questions 1 week before exam. Option of taking only 2 of 3 exams. Extra credit if you show up to the review session & hand in your questions. Like another reviewer stated, you just have to memorize the exams (which are essays/short answers). Overall, easy A.

Awesome awesome awesome. Gives you every opportunity to do well in her class. Attendance isn't recorded but you still want to show up because her lectures offer everything that'll be on exams. Option of taking only 2/3 exams. Offers extra credit, ask questions. Loved her

Your grade is only made up of 3 exams. You could skip one and it wouldn't affect your grade. Most people take the first two and skip the last one, but it'd be better to take the last two and skip the first one (which were way easier). You basically have to memorize the exams, so if you couldn't do that I wouldn't take her. Overall a good prof

Learned a lot from this online class! I HATE discussion boards so I loved the fact that all you had to do was do to assignments, which were 3 essays each. She assigns 3 but gives you the option to not do one.

Lectures are good & she tells you everything you need to know so take good notes! There's only 3 exams, you may only take 2 if you do well) Attendance isn't mandatory & she lets out early a lot, but you should show up most of the time or you'll miss out on the material you need. Her reviews are helpful & she gives the essay question before the exam

Best online course. No discussions ever, just three essay exams due. You are on your own, but if you email her, she'll answer your questions. Fairly straightforward essay questions. If you only do two exams, each exam is 50%, and if you send in all three, each are worth 33.3%. Her grades are specific and she'll tell you why you received such grade.

This was an online course. No discussions, no exams-the exams are the three essays she assigned. At first I was extremely scared when I saw the essay exams but when broken down, use the book, & YOUTUBE,exams were easy. She was helpful & not judgmental with feedback, I have taken many PSY courses-she was the only one I remembered anything from. A

Laziest professor at BCC. Sits at her desk, stares at the ceiling and talks. Repeats herself constantly. It was an easy A for me but I did not learn anything from her. She gives 3, very easy tests and if you do well on 2, you don't have to take the 3rd. If you actually want to learn, don't take her. If you want an easy A, take her.

Anyone who doesn't put in the effort or attendance would give her a low rating. Go to class! Attendance isn't mandatory but she gives you all the notes in lamen terms needed for the essays! I learrned so much from this prof. Because she is so thorough and clear! So much better than memorizing terms!

Great teacher! only 3 essay tests which she gives you 2 questions to choose from to prepare. The exact same essays are on your test. She even lets you write 10-15 terms on the back of the essay question sheet she gives you prior to the test. Come to class because she gives a lot of notes but take this class I learned a lot and got a good grade!

Such a good teacher. Attendance is not mandatory but she does give a lot of notes in each class. She requires a textbook but I never got one. She doesn't use it too much. No homework and only 3 exams that are essays. She also gives you the essay questions before the test and has an extra credit class before each exam. I would recommend her!

Very laid back class. Attendance is not mandatory but you should go to class if you want to do well on the exams, which are the only grades that will make up your final grade for the course. She answers any questions you have and is very clear about what she wants.

Good teacher, easy class. She gives you the sections in the book to read, and lots of notes. The exams are easy, you just have to know the material (they're essays). She only requires 2 out of the 3 exams to be taken. Would recommend.
