He was great! He genuinely cares for his students and wants them to pass. He gives many extra credit opportunities. He sends you the Unit PowerPoint notes in advance so all you need to do is listen to him. YOU MUST STUDY. If you put in the effort then you will get a good grade.

He is amazing! I do not like science and I got an A. He sends you the lecture PowerPoints in an email in advance. YOU MUST STUDY. He gives you more than enough information, but it is a lot. His class is easy if you put in the work. He gives everyone extra credit opportunities for each unit.

50+ slides per "Unit", 4 units, each slide is full of fluff. He gives a review for his extremely hard exams that don't actually help at all. To pass you have to really pay attention to him which will be hard to do. DO THE EXTRA CREDITS they're kind of your only hope. Group Project is super easy.

50+ slides per powerpoint. You don't need the book because he lets you use notes on every test, just print out his powerpoints, use those, and you should be fine. Group presentation at the end, a project, and papers throughout the semester. The papers are an easy A, but the tests are tough. In general, a boring class with a nice professor.

This is the first review I have ever bothered to do. I feel compelled to rate professor zappo for several reasons. First, there is way too much material for a 1000 level course. Gives useless reviews. 4 impossible tests and 1 group presentation.. Gives extra credit if you do poorly on a test and takes attendance. Can use your own notes on test.

The grade achieved will be based upon the effort put forth by the student. I also appreciated being in his ES 1000 class because he is proficient at teaching valuable information to SERIOUS students. He is very perceptive about his students' abilities and personalities. His classes are not for those who have limited cerebral abilities.

His earth science class is only meant to be taken by SERIOUS students. His classes are not for those who are lazy, have limited cerebral abilities, or like to wait until the last minute to study. you need to read the book and the notes in order to pass. Not bad though.

Professor Zappo's Earth Science class was the easiest science class I have ever had. There is a great deal of work, but if you take good notes and do the homework you will pass. He gives four exams, you do not have to take the final if you have an A- or higher average in the class. His homework assignments are super easy and films are interesting.

Notice how the idiots who commented below cannot spell or properly distinguish between "to" and "too". Dr. Zappo is extremely helpful and his slides are interesting if you care enough to pay attention in class. This is a General Geography course so he has to cover a wide array of topics but his lectures are interesting and helpful. Easy A!

Wouldnt reccommend him to my enemy! Gives way to much work. He teaches Earth Science now. Does not explain anything. The textbook was a waste because we never used it. Flies through his powerpoint slides, so you cant copy anything down. You have to write an 2 papers he counts as an exam, and a reseach paper,and a powerpoint presentation

Never used the book, even though in the 1st class he tells you that he will quiz you on the readings; did it 1x only. Sitting through his dry power point presentations is torture & he will keep you until the very last minute. Extremly critical on his elementary school projects of cutting, pasting & coloring. Sitting through class sometimes feels like torture, he keeps you there the whole time and lectures dryly that whole time so it's super boring. But the assignments are easy so you can easily get an A if you can put up with all the classes. Never used the book(s) even once. [ps; even though he is boring he's very nice and super smart.]

Class is very boring and he keeps you almost the entire length of the class. The work itself is easy but he can be a little critical. The papers are easy to get an A on. He did not give us a midterm or a final. Repeats himself often. Dont need the book, just the Atlas. Easy to get a B.
