As long as you participate, show up to 95% of classes, and show some effort it's a pretty easy A. Lucia is an amazing professor, and I would gladly take another class with her. Tests are definitely easier than the essays.

She is very caring and very passionate about what she is teaching. Señora Chamanadjian is definitely a professor that I would recommend to those who are very willing to learn Spanish. Sure, there were tons of homework but they helped me improve my Spanish in a short amount of time. Great and very kind professor, take her if you can!

Lucia is a very dynamic and caring professor. SPAN 201 was VERY fast paced however, including a ton of tests and homework. The classes were long, but generally good. She seems to really care about her students and their success, and gives good feedback on assignments. Get ready to be in a small class setting where participation is mandatory!

Wonderful prof. Always tells you how you can improve. Papers are returned with feedback and you can re-submit them to improve your grade. Seems like she genuinely wants you to succeed in her class.

Very charismatic, really wants you to learn the language. Only downside was how often assignments/tests would be explained in Spanish and as this was a beginners class it was hard to fully understand all the requirements

She was without a doubt the best prof I've had at McGill. It's obvious she loves what she teaches and teaching in general. She is always there if we need to ask something, very helpful, and she wants you to do the best you can. I loved her class, and I advised anyone who wants to learn Spanish to take her class!!

At first I thought Lucia was harsh, but then realized it's just the language programs at McGill that are real ballbusters. The beginning of the year I felt like she was sort of judgmental about what you said in class but she's actually very helpful if you see her in office hours.

She is not friendly and does not care about her students. When she gives you work it feels like she is doing it for the sake of making you work, not for the sake of actually learning. Tough grader on compositions, takes points off if she doesn't like your writing style. Material is easy enough if you keep up with it.

Prof. Chamanadjian cares about her students but can be moody at times. It is called a beginner class but you end up in a class with students who are nearly fluent. She takes off a ton of points for accents and the class moves very quickly. Lots of little assignments to boost grade though.

The best prof you can ever ask for! Lucia is so helpful, so enthusiastic. She makes you fall in love with Spanish! Language courses need you to devote a lot of time in order to get a good grade. Lucia is fair to everybody. Although i didn't get an A, there's nothing i can complain. Come to class and participate.

Lucia is one of the best prof I have ever had in my life. Always willing to help you, always caring for her students (she even e-mailed me once because she was worried I was not doing ok). Give yourself a favor and take this class with her if you'e willing to study regularly, I swear you will not regret it.

I am writing this comment only because I am shocked that there are people actually saying bad things about this professor. She is amazing, she teaches so well, she keeps you interested and I have enjoyed going to every single class because she's always in a good mood, always making jokes and always available to help her students.

Fantastic professor, very understanding, and always trying to make sure everyone is getting what they need. Also, she bought us timbits and chocolate on most fridays.

She shows a bit of favouritism but ultimately she treats everyone very well provided they show up prepared. Lots of small assignments which are quite easy if you read the corresponding chapter in the textbook (which are simple and short). Grades fairly, always has a positive attitude. Participation is important.

Class is very difficult. Even if you know the language very well, it is still very hard to do well. Class is designed for literature majors. AVOID AT ALL COSTS if you are taking it as an elective. Espanol is a beautiful language but HISP 220 at McGill was not pleasant.

I wasn't even planning on writing this review, but after reading all the malicious comments, I figured I'd set the record straight: if you put in the effort to care about her class and participate, you will have the best time of your life. Lucia is a very sweet lady and wonderful teacher. Far and away the best prof. I've had at McGill.
