This is unlike any class I've ever taken. Syed should not teach. You will teach yourself most of everything in this class, and Syed will be no help. Memorize LabSim. For exams study hard on qgen,watch videos,look over d2l notes,and look over past assembly quizzes. Make friends in class and work together! It is you vs. Syed. Good luck.

Tests are hard, but not impossible. It will feel like you are failing the class, but he curves heavy. Labsim is required and time consuming, but once labsim is done this class isn't anything different than any other class. Reach out to your classmates for help and reach out to people who have already taken the class!

Syed's class is incredible because it is one of the classes I've worked my hardest on, yet learned the least in. The only thing this class teaches you is how to cram for a quiz. Save yourself the effort and just memorize the D2L questions and labsim questions/labs (he says you'll fail if you do this, but you won't). Memorize and you'll pass.

Avoid him at all costs. No sympathy for students with anxiety, puts all deadlines and tests on Mondays (even the Monday directly after spring break) Homework heavy, typically 6 hours of homework a week at minimum. Terrible at explaining and answering questions. Contradicts himself all the time. Lecture, quiz, and homework heavy.

Up front, he told us to expect 8 hours of homework a week (4 credit class) and that's what I put in. There are a lot of people on here writing bad reviews to rant, but it's probably because they slacked off and didn't pass his class. Overall, expect to work hard, but learn a lot. He is very smart in his field and uses good metaphors in class,

The TA taught the class more than Syed, and the course work was beyond unclear. Expectations felt random and quizzes and tests were on future chapters that werent mentioned beforehand. TA was rude and made you feel bad for not understanding a concept that was barely touched on in class. Avoid this teacher if you can.

Syed would show up to class late and leave early and make his TA teach the class. He would ask if we had an assignment done that hasn't even been opened on D2L yet. He does not explain to the class what a code means or why we are even writing it. Also has questions on the exam that were later in the book then the chapters we've covered.

To be honest, he is not that bad of a professor. It's just that he doesn't really teach the course effectively. He does in fact lecture a lot, but he does not properly engage the class in a way that allows everyone to learn. If you are about to take one of his classes, really try to work hard otherwise you will end up retaking the class like me.

By far the worst professor I have taken at MNSU and trust me there are a lot. Could not believe that he is actually the chairman for the IT department. He does not know how to teach at all and expects you to know the information by searching on Google and watching Youtube videos. Your going to end up teaching yourself with no help at all from him.

Very unclear student responsibilities, poor/lack of total communication. Would post homework assignments at inconsistent times and schedule quizzes at unfeasible times online like 10pm. Bad professor, main problem was total lack of communication on his part. Left students in the dark often

His expectations are very unclear and he changes things up through the whole semester. He teaches information after assignments are due, which is not efficient at all. He is the most unorganized professor I have ever had in my college career. Me and two other students had a meeting with the dean about him. I highly suggest to not take Syed.

Chair of the IT department, and at the same time the worst professor on campus. His inability to teach and maintain a classroom environment is disgusting. There is no teaching element in this class because he simply doesn't know how to teach.

This is insane. Obviously the teacher is the president of IT, but he is just not a good teacher whatsoever. Each lecture, nobody can even follow what he is saying or attempting to teach. And he doesnt care. He tries to get students to explain subject for him. He uses a website, Testout, to teach a very important part of his class for him. AVOID!!!

This guy goes out of his way to be a terrible joke of a teacher. He makes students sign up for an online course that is supposed to replace his lack of ability to teach but even the online material falls very short. He has technical knowledge of the course material but absolutely no ability to explain it. Avoid him if at all possible.
