Comment:

She acts as if her class is the only class or at least that the only important one. Given that fys is a common curriculum class not a part of any major it should be the least important class. She is also Indian and has a accent for me it wasn't that hard to understand but if you have any hearing problems or struggle with English your screwed.

Philosophy: "If you can't write one page without one grammatical error, you won't be able to get a job. Picks favorites. Puts "excellent!" on papers that receive a 'BC' with no feedback. Gives assignments late evenings prior to class and expects you to come prepared. This professor is terrible. I STRONGLY advise that you do NOT take her.

Comment:

Manju is very passionate about international relations & tries to engage her students, but she just isn't a very good professor. She's very qualified but tends to pick favorites and conducts class like a high school class, not a college level course. Very easy, don't learn a whole lot besides on Cold War.

I thought this class was very easy. Just show up, sit down, and say whats on your mind every once in a while. You get an AB no matter what if you turn in all of the assignments and don't miss class too much. Be warned - I learned absolutely nothing from her, only the books. The only reason I went to class was because I couldn't miss any more!

You're going to get an AB whether you work or slack off. It’s an easy class, but she’s apprehensive about giving out A’s to the point that she makes b.s. corrections to take off points (i.e. she once crossed out "large" on one of my papers and changed it to "big") Manju isn't that bad but be prepared to be treated like you're still in high school

You can't hear what she is saying...ever. She has eyes in the back of her head and once she labels you as a talker you're screwed! Also, she doesn't really actually teach. Don't take this class unless you want to have a repetitive lesson of the Cold War

Comment:

Manju is nice to talk on a personal level but she holds her opinion against you for grading. Not clear on assignments and vague on guidence for projects. Agree and don't say much in class and you'll make the grade. Speak out in a poly sci class and you'll eat it.

Yes, these are objectively wrong in reality, but this isn't reality, so just go along with it. And we're just here to get our A, get a decent job and laugh at people like Manju while we donate to the GOP. What Manju don't know won't hurt her.

The only prof I've ever had who interrupted an in-class presentation to argue with the student over a point they were trying to make that she didn't agree with. It was her way or you got a bad grade. Absolutely terrible.
