Comment:

She is great and caring overall. The only problem is that if you got a problem in your code(this happened me and others as well), she couldn't able to find the solution on why the code is not working and you'll end up have to find another classmate to help you. The take home tests were hard and sometimes would give out quizzes unexpectedly.

Comment:

Basically, this class focus on Assembly language. It is a pretty difficult class. however, Professor Rettke made everything easy. She will give lots of opportunities to make up your score. The first 2 3 sessions are hard, but once you learn her methods then everything will become so easy and you can get an easy A, by just little effort.

Comment:

I've taken several classes taught my Mari, she's one of my favorite college professors honestly. She is extremely interactive with students and makes especially long lectures go by quickly. She genuinely wants everyone in her classes to pass, and is more than willing to help you get there.

Comment:

She's a really nice professor and definitely knows her material. Sometimes she does get distracted in the middle of lecture so just remind her to get back on topic. She's a bit tough on grading, but if you talk with her you can probably convince her to get some extra points. She offers a lot of help outside of class.

Although the tests and final are to take home, but those are DIFFICULT. She gave out tests about things that she haven't taught us and even if I asked her, I still don't understand and become even more unmotivated. Good thing she's a nice professor and a generous grader. She'll extend due dates if necessary.

There lots of assignments,3quizzes,3 take home tests,1 take home final. Her lectures were great but she gave out tests about certain things that she havent gone over and it can be stressful :( Fortunately, shes a generous grader and always available to help students. She provide free pdf textbooks.

Lovely professor! Really, REALLY cares. She will explain ANYTHING to you even if she's already gone over it multiple times. She is eager to help and answer questions and is very available outside of class. Not only does she want you to get a perfect grade, Professor Rettke will go the extra mile to assist you on your path into computer science.

If programming isn't natural for you, Mari is the best. However if you already are proficient in programming, you may become annoyed with how sugarcoated and oversimplified she can explain things. I feel bad for students who will be harshly awakened in upper level classes/real world scenarios who may have otherwise dropped the major long before.

Professor Rettke is one of the best Professors I have ever had. She's very caring to all her students. She has all the patients in the world. She would always give us encouragements. She makes sure that she would help all students in any way she can if we need help with home works even if it's not the subject that she.

A very helpful, nice going professor. Class is easy, just show up to class. If you get lost and don't understand the material, she gladly offers help & tutoring on certain days during the week or weekend in the computer lab. Late assignments are always accepted if you let her know in advance.

Best Professor just remember if you need help ask, I was afraid of asking for help because I felt I needed to learn programming on my own, but the truth is she is their to help even if its a little hard to get a hold of her. Her classes can be a little difficult to keep up but it's because it's your first time programming. Remember read the book.

Tested us on things she didn't cover in class and didn't give a lot of lecture time to make sure we understood the material. Other times she would test us on things that there weren't examples of in the book or online. She'll help you if you ask, but it can be tough getting her help when everyone else needs it too. Avoid.

Comment:

Probably the very best teacher that I have had in my life. You will not only learn programming but you will learn many important life lessons as well. By learning the programming skills that she has taught she has helped me to organize my thoughts in all the other matters of my life. She is very kind and helpful and always has time for questions.
